Adding an Incline

I used the Woodland Scenic incline pieces on the GSTTO club S gauge layout and they worked very well with S-Helper/MTH track. They would probably work well with the Lionel Fastrack also, but don't know if they would help deaden the noise problem with that track. 

Thank you, I am using old Flyer track with old rubber roadbed, I would not call it quiet, but it is not too bad.  This section with foam under the roadbed will probably be the quietest section.

2% grade is 2" rise in 100" of run. 100" is 8' 4".    A 2% up, for 1" rise is a 50" run, leave the other 50" for down, would take 8'4" add your 1' to 2' level in the middle.   10'+ to do this.

Thank you Mike, I am going to do this over about a ten foot span, so I will have about four feet of incline, two feet where the track is level, before it starts the down hill slope again for about 4 ft.  I am off to the local HobbyTown.

I have ripped out the 10 foot section, added 4 feet of incline, 4 feet of decline, and 2 feet of track that is elevated 1 inch in between.

Slightly above a 2% grade but I think it will be fine.

Waiting for the joint cement I put on it to dry, so I can sand it and get it painted. Then I can put the track back down.
