I have a lionel 2003 Camelback engine ( 6-28748) which I want to replace the existing motor drive board with ERR's Cruse Commender M board. The spacing to add the ERR board is REAL tight, and I would most likely have to remove some of the plug connectors on an adjacent board and solder the leads directly to the board to allow me to fit in the new ERR board. Before I commit taking things apart, I wanted to see if anyone has attempted this conversion on a Camelback.

I have put the CC-M in the Camelback, and it's a very tight fit. However, it did fit, and it's happily cruising now wherever it is. I believe I had to modify the heatsink a bit to make it fit as I recall.

Yep, still thinking what I might like to run on the "big" layout. 
I suppose it should be a DCS train as we have issues with those here on our club layout, might as well get some run time on things that don't get run often.
