AF Rocket Sled

I picked up a beat up rocket sled mostly for the motor as I already have a nice shell and flatcar.  The problem is that both of the wipers only touch the rear wheels and not the front.  I would assume that they should also touch the front wheels.  If so, I am thinking of removing the front wheels to bend the wipers down so that they touch the wheels.  Is this what I should do?

I have two of these and the wipers touch all four wheels.  Sounds like they need adjusting.

Adjusted the wipers and cleaned the brushes.  Runs well.

If I recall correctly the motors in these were designed to operate on max 12 volts so don't overdo it!
