When shows do return, they will probably be mobbed with the pent up demand.  Allentown is a great show, I miss living in Erie and being able to attend this one.   Maybe its time for these shows to develop an online platform where dealers can sell their trains with the costs of greedy fleabay.  This ongoing health crisis has to be really messing up the lively hood of some of these dealers, some who I know depend on shows for the majority of their income.   I have bought a few items from dealers that are selling online.  Hang in there everybody!   AD

Surprised someone hasn't thought of a virtual train show, the technology is there (I realize many dealers are not all that tech savvy). Each vendor could set up tables at home or someplace they can use, with a video feed (they could use a cellphone camera). On the main website you have windows for the various vendors, user clicks into it and you basically enter a zoom conference with the vendor. You can chat with the vendor, ask them to show you a particular unit, etc. Obviously it is not the same thing as being there, could be clunky if a vendor has a lot of people trying to grab their attention, you can't see everything online the way you can live, but it would be a way to have something, the tech is there.

I am sorry that this was cancelled,  I like First Frost, it is one of my favorite show along with a small one that is held in Wayne, NJ. It doesn't surprise me, though, even with all the downward trends, etc, currently showing (and there are indications the current data tracking is skewed, not accurate, and likely is underreporting cases and such), this thing is not over and we may well end up with a second wave in the fall. Guy I used to work with is at a firm that does something called big data being applied to health care and the like, some of the  people running models there are showing results that at best you can say are not positive...).  I hope that soon there is a credible vaccine for this, I doubt many train shows other than those that operate outdoors under strict guidelines are going to happen this year, I think at this  point we just have to hope for a better 2021.
