Amazon has Hookup wire.

1 Amazon Hookup Wire

Well with Radio Shack gone and OGR no longer selling hookup wire. I been getting my wire at Amazon. Sold in these very convenient five color sets.

22 / 20 / 18 & 16 gauge sets. Just finished doing a Z-Stuff project with this wire. Each 25 feet long.

Hope this helps: Gary

Gary,

What gauge wire do you use with Z-Stuff? Thanks

Hi Ron:

For my Z-Stuff project I used  20 gauge stranded hookup wire and I solder all the hookup wires to the Z-Stuff wires. Z-stuff wire was even thinner. Looked liked 22 or 24 gauge.

I purchase my 14 gauge Red & Black, stranded. 500 feet per spool at Home Depot. This runs power to the track. I also purchase door bell wire at Home Depot for accessories and lighting. 250’ spools.

Hope this helps: Gary

I use 22 or24 gauge too. I run it all to a bus bar. All my accessories go to a bus bar designated for either the lights, switches, Miller signs and Z-Stuff.

Thanks Gary. How is the strand count on that wire? I like a high strand count because it's more flexible.

HI Dave Z

1 22 Gauge straned

I use a Klein Tools Cat. No. 1000 wire stripper, shown in this photo.

This is the 22 gauge wire from Amazon.  It holds up well during the wire stripping procedures and soldering. No count given on the wire spools or box.

I use it on several Z-Stuff projects and for this price I would say the wire has an excellent multi strand count and is very flexible. It also holds up well together when using wire nuts.

Hope this helps: Gary
