A buddy of mine found an 21107 engine and a few cars in an attic of a house he bought, and gave them to me, however there is no tender, just the shell. I was just wondering if there are other engines that share the same tender frame that can be used. Thanks for any info.

That tender was used on all Atlantics the C&NW, and New Haven Pacifics from about 1953 to the end of A.C. Gilbert company. I would try e-bay for a tender replacement.
According to this service manual, the tender frame for the American Flyer #21107 locomotive was unique, due to the Pikemaster trucks used. See the last entry, #60, at the bottom of the page.

The few cars that he gave me have the pikemaster couplers, so I guess I have to find that tender frame to be able to run it with the rolling stock.
If I recall correctly. all the 5 digit Atlantics have a separate tender that connects to the trailing truck and drawbar which seems to be missing in the picture. Some have a direct wire connection from engine to tender and some have a 2 prong plug that connects to the tender. All can be made to work if that is your intent. Knuckle couplers are probably better and will connect to the pikemaster cars.

Some versions of 5 digit Atlantics came with the riveted trailing truck/drawbar assembly. Either will work.
