I apologize for not having pictures of this set, but it is packed away. The set is American Flyer circa 1920’s with two complete trains, freight and passenger, both pulled by clockwork steam locos. It came in a double height box to accommodate the trains and extra track. I’d like to find out if this was a cataloged set, but my early Flyer documentation is thin. Is anyone familiar with this set? Thanks…

There is such a set, which was shown in the c. 1916 American Flyer catalog.  The only way to tell for sure if that is the set that you have is to see photos of it and the setbox.  However, here are photos of the two sets.

The freight set c. 1916

The passenger set c. 1916

I don't recall if the double set had 1 coach or 2 coaches, but the set I have pictured has 2 coaches with the set.

**Update**  I did check my catalogs, the set appears in the 1914-1916 era catalogs and it shows a baggage and coach only in the passenger set.

As has been noted it is the M20.  Mine is a boxed set - the track goes in the bottom half and it is covered with essentially a cardboard lid and the trains go on top.  When I bought the set I had my doubts about the correctness of the gondola and NWL and I have talked about this.  I've managed to find a period correct version which I've added.  So the only remaining question is the engine pulling the passenger cars.  According to the catalog it should be a #15 but the one in my set isn't.
