American Flyer Green Passenger Train

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know of a green passenger train made by American Flyer back in the late 50's? My father is in bad health and unfortunately his memory is fading. I try to keep his mind going by speaking with him about his love of trains. He keeps telling us that his favorite train was a green AF passenger set he had from the late 50's. He stated that there was a little grey or silver on the train cars as well. He thought the set was from 1958. Anyone have any ideas? I see a few different green AF trains when I google the details.

You might want to give http://www.myflyertrains.org/A...7_catalog_index1.htm pages 28 & 29 a look. It might be set number 20370 Vista Dome North Coast Limited. The website has all the Am Flyer catalogs so you can page through them until you find the set

Tom, thanks for the information. That has to be it. I went back/forward a few years on each catalog and that's the only green/sliver train I see. Appreciate the help!

The New Silver Rocket set had green and silver Alco diesels pulling silver passenger cars with a green stripe. This set was last cataloged in 1955. The green NP set was cataloged multiple years beginning in 1956. In each succeeding year the set got shorter. Be sure to look at the 55, 56, 57 and 58 catalogs on the above linked site.

The NP set was iconic. The PA locomotives were wrong but it looked so good with this set.
