American Flyer prewar switch and parts..

I just got  a American Flyer  prewar switch seems to use the power wire to make movement not the ground.

Is there a way to make them non derailing I'm thinking of the 153R electronic   unit or is there a way to make them work automatically?

or a relay that throws on and   shuts of power so  it does not burn out the switch

Also ... do you know if the part shown is available or possibly a Marx part might fit? It goes under the motor cover and rivets to the metal housing that pushes the lever from the solenoid.  thanks, daniel
