Hello all,

I just recently decided I want a set of the AM Budd passenger cars in the New Haven road name, Part number BDBS04.

Unfortunately Ron is sold out and I have checked a couple of his dealers who are also out of that road name.

Does anyone on this forum know where I could acquire the set?

Thank you,

Aflyer

I hope you find your New Haven set.  Good luck!

If worse comes to worse (and that can't be all that bad) you can always get an undecorated set and do a custom paint job on them.  It's not a hard scheme to duplicate.  Even the lettering isn't hard.  I've done it.  A few minutes with an ink jet printer and some finessing Times New Roman font, and you'll have a good representation of the lettering on the cars.

I repainted a junk box set of Gilbert cars in this way to get a Bankers set that I never got as a kid, and can't afford as an adult...  The little logos above the trucks were also done on my computer.

Thank you, I don't think I could be satisfied with my creating the lettering.  The painting I could probably do though.

Thank you, that may be my next option.

Hey Aflyer!

The lettering is the easy part!  Use Times New Roman 10 point font (available on most any computer) clicking on the small arrow in the "font" tab in Word, then when the window comes up, click on "advanced" and choose 250% scale and spacing expanded by 13 points.  Print it on clear decal paper, overcoat with a gloss clear coat and use like any decal.

As far as the little heralds go, if you have to go with a custom paint job, I can send you those too.  I printed up a LOT of them but only used a few.
