Elliot Welz.

Also made straight Amfleet cars. Long time ago, possibly the late 1980's was the last production run. I was able to get some replacement end caps for my 5-car set of his Amfleets through him a few years ago (the original plastic had a tendency to shrink). He said at the time that the tooling was up for sale.

Evidently I was lucky I did get them when I did (2012 CTT forum link, last post)

The set you have is made by Elliot Welz, not Lionel.

Silver Lake was suggesting that Lionel should make Metroliners using the previously made and hard to find Amfleet Cab Control car.

I have Welz Amfleet cars.  I also have Williams Amfleet and Metroliners.  All nice in their own ways.  Pictured are Williams Metroliners. 20140101_17585520140101_180057

I have an earlier production Weltz Metroliner set and a late Williams set.  The Welz cars are much more interesting in my opinion.  The pantographs are better and while their proportion is not scale, the extrusions are little smaller so they feel more realistic.  The motor is a single Lionel Pullmor on the lead unit and cars have both coaches and lounge cars in the set.

Here are some videos of both sets running.

Thanks for clarifying me. Sometimes My thoughts are lost in translation.

That Pennsy Metroliner looks sharp. As much as I do appreciate  the sturdy extruded aluminum of the Williams cars I wish they were not all Cafe window placement.

I agree on the window issue on Williams.  They could have easily done three of the four cars as all coach windows.
