We publish a newsletter roughly every week with news for our place, some videos now and then, new product arrivals and occasionally a discount code for special prices on our website, mrmuffinstrains.com

This week, we reported:

  • The Atlas O California Zephyr orders are due this week, and we added a discount code on our website, MuffinCAZ to give our customers a better deal than the mandatory minimum advertised price schedule published by Atlas O. I can't advertise the discount, but its available in your shopping cart
  • Similarly, we published a discount code for pre-orders out of the MTH 2016 Volume 2 catalog. Through this week, for an additional discount use the code MFNPremier for Premier items and the code MFNRK for Rail-King items. No deposit is required - just select "pre-order" at checkout.
  • For the month of May we took all shipping charges for rolling stock off of our website so you can order even a single freight car by Atlas O, Lionel or MTH at our regularly discounted price and receive free shipping. Perfect for Mother's Day, though I am buying MrsMuffin a tank/sprayer for our tractor for her Mother's Day Gift - don't tell!
  • On Thursday night May 19th GCubed and I are holding a MTH PS1 to PS3 upgrade workshop at our place. For $25 you get instruction / assistance with your upgrade and some refreshmments. Both diesel and steam upgrade kits will be available for $199.95 each. Space is limited - so email me if you're interested. Accommodations are also available - stay in town Thursday night and come run trains with me Friday morning.
  • Did you know that our website has a "Make an Offer" button?  We have a button on our website for many of our in-stock items that allows you to make an offer on one of our products - usually engines and sets. We have been doing this for our customers since last November. Roughly 60% of the time we can make it work and save you some money!

  • Dennis Osborn visited our layout a week ago Saturday. He attached a GoPro to a gondola and we drug it around the layout. Take a look: Dennis' Video
  • I shot a short video too last Saturday when the crowd calmed down a little bit of two of our Lionel Steamers hauling revenue on our layout. Take a look here: Lionel Steam at MrMuffin'sTrains

I heard that some "professional" videographer was going to shoot your layout this summer for a fall release DVD.

What's up with that?

We are pretty nervous about it - there's been a distinct lack of professionalism in our place since we opened..... We are really looking forward to it!!!!!

My wife's been wanting one of those for years to pull behind her Bobcat. She enjoyed the woodchipper I got her last year, but I found she was putting some of my trains into it.

Thanks everyone! The RailKing code is actually MFNRK, sorry about that. The tanks on flats are the original release by MTH. They are a crowd favorite. We had several guys sign up for the PS3 Workshop today. I appreciate all the support. She might just like that wood chipper but after she cut her thumb 95% off building this layout she's not getting anything like that! It might impact her cooking!

Nope. I hear he's from the O Gauge Railroading magazine World Headquarters and Raw Nerve Center in Poland, Ohio.

But what do I know...

Ah, I thought it might be TM videos. Last time I was at his studio I thought he mentioned about doing that, but like you said, what do I know.

MM,

I always check your videos and layout.  It is truly awesome!  Love to visit, but I'm in CT.

I wonder if you could take time to tell us where you're getting those small lattice pieces and railings that line the edges of many of your bridges.  I'm going up two levels on my table layout and I'm scratch-building many bridges.  Three are 7 feet long on a 35' layout.  I need something like those to make them more interesting.

Jerry

I also am a huge Mr. Muffin's fan! I live in Mississippi, but have family all over the Indianapolis area. Mr. Muffin's is a must stop when we are in town. The layout looks awesome in person and I'm sure it will look nice in the video. I have to admit though, I love looking at all the shelves and just seeing the amazing collection of trains! I also love getting the updates! Thanks for all you do!

They are made by our friends at TWTrainWorx..... they come in a seven foot roll.....

Steve,

I am grateful that I am on your newsletter.   When I received the last one, reminding your customers about the May 4th deadline for pre-order of the California Zephyr, that was enough to prompt me to get off my butt and place my order.  I did so and you got my business for the 12 WP cars and a set of WP A-B-B-A F-units.

Thanks for the reminder AND the nice discount.
