Gunrunner John, your absolutely correct, I was showing the smoke effects I was looking for when Harmonyards adds your Chuffer System, I may have overstated the objective, however, I’m sure hoping for a great smoking hudson. I am so excited to see the end product. Thank you all for chiming in, it adds to the thrill of model railroading. You to RickO, I see I used the wrong steamer for the smoking example, but, you all get the idea. Have fun, enjoy your trains. Happy Railroading Everyone.

Sorry to disappoint Larry, ...I’m fighting a kidney stone, I’m afraid I’m confined to the easy chair and a heating pad,.....not my choice for a reveal, .....but I’m praying I reveal relief, ....I’ll be back in the train room as soon as it passes,....

I had them recently. I never passed it that I know. The pain was off the charts. I changed my diet and I'm hoping for the best. No more peanuts! Urrggg.

So I can say to you, I feel for you!

Well, here’s hoping that Pat, CEO of the Harmonyards, Harmon Shops is feeling much better and will be catching up soon. This project is so exciting and educational and down right fun to watch. Hopefully the kidney stone will dissolve soon and pat will feel a great bit of relief. Stay tuned, the best is yet to come. Happy Railroading Everyone

Thanks fellas,...it wouldn’t pass and stayed put for several days, ....finally enough was enough, my doc set me up to have it ultrasonically blasted, .....that did the trick, I’m a little beat up, sore as crap, but on the mend,......I tried to go back to work yesterday, and that was a mistake!....so it’s down to letting the heating pad and the fireplace do it’s thing!....and of course trolling the forum!...it’s guys like Larry and Mark that always keep this place up beat and positive!....we’ll be seeing Larry’s Hudson in action real soon, ....days, not weeks away now!....stay tuned!...

Pat

Sorry to hear about that Pat. They say lemon juice works too. I know my coworker Gigi, aka John G said drinking too much tea contributed to his he believed, he worried about me because of my tea intake. I never sugar mine, don't know about his.

Part of getting old I guess Dave, .....truth be told, and I’m not bashful to admit it, but I’m a Pepsi fiend, always have been and always will be,....can’t and won’t do diet either,....this is about the 3rd or 4th time I’ve had stones  in 5 years, .....time to cut back for sure, but I’m not a quitter!...😉

I can really tell she wants to go Larry, ....I’ll perform some jaw dropping tests either Thursday ( we’re supposed to have a snow day) or the weekend, ....then we’ll see why you & I went as bananas building this thing,....she’s packed with the horsepower!.....the best is yet to come!...

Pat

I do need to thank a few guys who helped this journey along, I can call on these wizards of O gauge anytime and they’re quick to respond, ....Pete ( Norton )  with his boundless knowledge, helped me with the lighting effects and wiring, and Sean ( SPFord27 ) helped me streamline and simplify a lot of the wiring,.....and of course thanks to John Will ( GRJ ) for support with his products!....he’ll probably chastise me for not using a LED headlight, but I need tungsten and argon in my life!...😉anyways, thanks for the back up on this project guys!....

It’s not 100% accurate, in fact it’s off by a country mile, but I like it, and the message is conveyed, .....and it’s a cool piece to tug behind a locomotive in testing,....I’m still building the interior for it, and that’ll help it’s looks too,....close enough for government work,....😉...

Pat first off glad you're over the stone(s). Larry's Hudson looks, sounds and runs great so far.  The dyno car is also a winner.  Two great builds.

Pat, close enough for government work!!  It sure works for me!  It really conveys what you intend it to be.

Coach & Mark,....thanks for the compliments,....nobody makes an O scale dynamometer car in three rail that I know of, and 2 rail cars I think are either non-existing or scarce as hens teeth,....

Pat

Well, I thought I had said this before, but apparently forgot to send the remark, I just wanted to brag on Pats home layout as it’s really fun to see. His scenery is amazing allowing the trains to simply look much more realistic than ever. I also appreciate all of the folks helping him make this a fun project. Wiring, making parts, adding the fine detailing Gunrunner Johns items, Pete Norton, Sean, and all those involved. I appreciate you All. Happy Railroading Everyone

And we’re off!....here goes Larry’s Hudson down to couple on to her test train with the dynamometer car,.....the big test is coming!....this thing is a beast!,..sound pounds the ground, smoke is awesome, control is fantastic!....lovin it so far!!...

Pat

Harmon shops?... sounds a little more like it came out of Roanoke.

Impressive stuff as always Pat!  I have no clue what that dynamometer car is supposed to look like but I'd swear it came out of a Sunset/Third rail box. It looks great as well.

Oh, and love the layout  That corner alone is a fantastic scene with the roundhouse and everything to go with it!

Wow, I found this on page 10 of the three rail forum thread. I’ve spoken to Pat, CEO of the Harmon Shops, of Harmonyards and he is practically finished with this project. That being said, I’ve really enjoyed watching his workmanship and his ability to make parts such as the prototypical Headlight, his adding all of the hi tech electronics, Gunrunner Johns chuff stuff, the Smoking System,  ERR Speed control, a hi tech Speaker in the tender, and prototypical deck plate, cab curtains, special detailing of the ash pan, inside of the cab, the knobs meters and gauges and really attentive engineer and brakeman, So much thought to make this K-Line NYC J1e Hudson, one to simply adore, admire, and appreciate, it’s unbelievable.
Now, as you know, Pat has a very demanding day job, he’s a young fellow, I can tell by his voice when we speak by phone, so there may or may not be a final video, I did tell him I could wait, I’m patiently waiting, we will have to see. I can say, I highly recommend his service for upgrading older locomotives that you have and want to run correctly, and you’ll be very happy with the workmanship. He should be called a MasterCraftsman, his attention to detail is unsurpassed, I am a very happy camper.

So, as we come to a Finale, Thank You Harmonyards, The Harmon Shops, Pat, for a Journey like no other, your generosity and friendship will be long running as one day, I’ll visit your shops in person, God Willing. Thank You very much for this fun ride. Your simply amazing. Your friend in Tennessee, Leapin  Larry

Localawyer, I will get with you when Harmonyards gets finished with the upgrade. I’ll be excited to see the finished product, but am in no way rushing him. This is going to be a fun to run locomotive, full of fine detailing. I’m honored that Pat would tackle this amazing task. Thank you all for your interest in seeing this project and knowing that your older Locomotives could be upgraded to fun better, possibly run for life. Again, I say thank you to the Harmon Shops. Happy Railroading Everyone
