Hey guys....here is my York success story. Thursday, my wife and I walk into the Orange Hall. We head to the back corner where we usually start our laps. No more than 2 minutes into the Hall and there it was sitting on the floor.

I have been looking for this set for over 15 years at a reasonable price. And there it was in all its glory....NIB....and at 50% off MSRP. The seller accepted my first offer. Everything is new with no visible signs of use. The only thing missing was the plastic shrink wrap.

SOLD.

Ed Boyle said it best about this set:

"We have written about this set twice in Collector's Gallery and it is my all time favorite among Post-War inspired Warbonnet sets. From its packaging to its then state-of-art electronics to its ABBA diesels and aluminum cars, nothing was spared to make it the best Lionel could produce at the time. It was said by Lionel types that Neil Young influenced its "over the top" contents. If so, hurray for Neil."

The set is 18 years old today. Yes...it is not Legacy, only TMCC. No biggie. The set has an ABBA set with a "AB" powered by Pullmor motors! I love the growl.

7 aluminum (metal) passenger cars with interiors and passengers , including (3) domes and a diner. I do not have a problem with 15" cars. I also have the UP anniversary set with PA's and same length cars. I run it all the time and my guests never seem to care or even notice running them next to my 21" Amtrak cars.

For me....I just love the Lionel premium sets and that is all I usually buy. The older ones are my favorites, the packaging, contents and carton art are the best. My only criteria for the engines is they must have a minimum TMCC. Last year I sent back to Lionel 5 Legacy locomotives and a passenger set with problems. I have about had it with this new stuff and constant problems right out of the box. The issues continue today.  These older sets with engines and cars never have a problem. Oil and grease them up...put them on the track and enjoy.

i just got home...I will post some pics when they are unboxed and on the track. One has just got to love those Warbonnets. I know I do.
