Does anyone make 3-rail Scale (or close thereto) models of British prototype trains? For example, I know Lionel made the Hogwarts (and similar) set and MTH made some European stuff. I am not asking about older model trains from the 1940s-1960s like Hornby or Marklin, but current offerings. In essence, do modelers in the UK build three-rail layouts and, if so, who makes their trains?

Specifically, I am interested in GWR tank engines or LMS Royal Scot engines. And they would need tinplate wheels to run on three-rail track.

Thanks.

Literally hand built by a guy in a shed in Melbourne Australia lol .....but Ohhhhh what he does !!!

Looks very interesting - thanks for posting.  Do you own any of his creations?  And is he still active - many of his posts refer to "as of November 2017"?

@Mallard4468 I don't personally own one , I do have a mate who is soon to take delivery of the Matthew Flinders set ... sadly they are above my pay grade lol ! ( not uber uber expensive, but 2-3K-AUD I have heard  but the exchange rate is very much in your favour lol )

He is active and still making versions , he is a retired aerospace engineer and is suitably meticulous in detail etc ... best way is to contact him direct if you are interested

Thanks for the ballpark pricing info.  Even with the exchange rate, they're still pricey but appear to be fairly priced for what they are.  I sent him an email a couple of days ago but have not yet heard back.  We have a member of the OGR forum (and SGMA member) named @Jim Waterman who is a semi-retired engineer who does something similar in standard gauge - you've probably seen some posts regarding his work.

Bryce: Most is scratch built, though I picked up the small greenhouse kit at a train show in the UK. The maze is commercial hedge material cut to make the maze. The spiral maze under construction is n gauge ballast and white glue. The stone arch relic is foam board covered with air drying clay, sanded and scribed.

A section of the layout is built to be an English village; it consists of kits and details purchased during numerous business trips to the UK.FlyingYankee
