Inspired by the recent postings on this excellent topic, I decided to put some of my own NH stock out on the track. I started with this neat MTH extended vision cupola caboose that I bought at the Wilmington Greenberg show two months ago.

I started putting out freight cars and pretty soon had an impressive 11 cars plus a caboose. It's a mixed consist with gondolas, tankers, boxcars and hoppers. I call this "The Long Train" because I have to run it by itself!

For motive power I pulled out my set of MTH Alco PAs. These are powerful enough to pull the long train around all of my layout's sweeping curves.

In the hopes that 22 is a little different than 21, I am looking to "unbox" my NH inventory. I made a decision a few years back to only collect(buy) NH(except for 1 Amtrak consist) .

As a kid I went to softball games with my dad and counted NH freight cars as they slowly went by "Went" field in Bridgeport.

I’m thrilled to have found a Sunset FL9 at Public Delivery Track even though it is non powered. Shown here in a push/pull with an MTH F3 at rear (not shown) It also looks pretty nice MUd with an RS3. I have pics of them with GP9s and RS11s and saw references to being MUd with RS3 so I think I’m pretty proto typical!  Maybe some day I’ll be lucky enough to find a powered unit

The FL9 in prior post came out of the box with rear electro coupler open and I am unable to keep it closed. I would be happy to have it permanently closed. Any suggestions on how I might solve problem?

I hope that Melgar has just been too busy to view forum. His collection and informative posts have been an inspiration to me in my enjoyment of the hobby

Since becoming a new member after just retiring, I am pleased to see so many interested in the hobby and being a New Haven fan, there is so much on here about the New Haven to further boost interest. I am trying my hand at posting a picture from my layout. At my age, the electronics is mind boggling. I hope to be able to post more as I get more done.

In the recently posted picture, a pair of weaver I-5's meet on the bridge over the entrance to cedar Hill Yard. the 1400 has old heavyweights while the 1408 has a new string of stream lined passenger cars. The RS-3 is a local coming out of Cedar Hill.

Gentlemen, Thanks for sharing and for your comments. The New Haven Mikado is a very handsome model. Since I have recently retired, I now have some time to investigate what is a available out there in NH livery. I had no idea Lionel made such a piece. I will be on the lookout for any New Haven stuff at Eastern states this weekend........As for the I-5's, I was just a little to young to see them. My grand father used to take me down to the center of Meriden on Connecticut company buses and we were always able to catch a train or two. I remember DL109's, PA's, FA's and RS's. I was just a little too young to see any steam..... As I get better with the camera, I would like to post a video with the I-5's in it. Bill

If nobody noticed, there is a nice article in the New York Times today (Sunday), in the Real Estate section, about a few former New Haven stations that may be rehabilitated in the Bronx, on the former Harlem River Branch. Some nice vintage photos and what they look like nowadays.

Looks like these stations targeted for rehabbing, Westchester Ave. and Hunts Point Ave., were designed by Cass Gilbert and closed down in 1937.

Love those engines - actually bought an MTH version a bunch of years ago as a shelf queen. MN has been running those units (I believe there are 4 of them) for over 15 years - I rode behind them on a number of occasions back in my commuter days. I know they run on the Hudson and Harlem divisions, but I’m not sure they actually run on the New Haven Line since most of that line is under catenary.

I don't check that camera too often so this was the first time I saw one of them. This train proceeded off of the NE corridor mains onto northbound track along the river.

I have an NH green clerestory roof B60 in a PRR mail train. I recently posted a photo on the “passenger trains, let’s see them” thread. The diesel and electric loco colors stand out.

New Haven R2a Mountain in morning sunshine. This model is the of NYC Mohawk, but very close to the New Haven’s mountain.

Bicuitag97. Did this just arrive?  I have one on order but have to wait for it to be weathered by MrMuffins. Can’t wait!

Beautiful locomotive.  Do I understand this right, this was released as a NYC model, but it was close enough to have it lettered in NH?  Is this an old offering or something just released now?

It is the lionel tooling for the NYC mohawk. Just released by lionel painted in new haven.
