Anyone in SE Pa or Northern Delaware?

I've been to a few, and I agree it's a nice show, but we plan on going down to Lewes on Friday for a few days,

Check out the NJ IND.  hirailers layout. There are a few of us from the Exton/Downingtown area. Ask for Jim, a Mike or Dave. 

I am from SJ and have family in New Castle County. I am considering taking my grandson for a sensory overload. he's 3.5. Will post if I am going so we can meet.

I had to open a thread asking if there was anyone in that particular area.  Glad to see that there was no cataclysmic event putting the population of Philadelphia in question.

Not sure if I'm going. I live just a couple miles from the PA/DE border in Boothwyn.

Mark, Joe, David, & anyone else who has previously attended...... Which of the major retailers are there..... Nicholas Smith, Gryzboski, JustTrains of Delaware??  Anyone else?    I received a promotional postcard in the mail allowing me to get in for $7!!   A $1 discount from the normal $8.

Yes, like bob2, I wondered about this thread title. I've been to Philadelphia a few times, and there seemed to be people around - but that was years ago.

I have seen JustTrains once or twice. No other big Dealers that I can remember. But there is always something for everyone. Its a pretty decent show.

I picked up a few pieces of track from Just Trains on Sunday and they said they were going.  I attended the first show at this location, may be time to go back again.  I'm in Maryland about 45 miles south.

I would be interested to hear how this show was, the one in VA was significantly poorer than previous.  Low volume, open tables because of lack of venders, and a few of the clubs choosing not to display layouts.  G

I'll be at the Gilbertsville, PA show this Sunday.  Need a lot of parts.

There is a huge parts vendor that comes to the Wilmington show as well. I usually hit him and the Plasticville guy first before everyone else does :-)

The only main dealer has been just Trains.  The show is fairly small and also has toy vendors mixed in with the train sellers.  I go because there is a Die Cast vehicles vendor that shows up and has lots of choices, but I have never found any O gauge items there I wanted in the last 2 times I have attended.  Lots of families tend to go with kids to see the train display.  There is one vendor with a lot of Plasticville, and a few that offer train photographs and the like.  There are also some toy vendors selling everything from Star Wars figures to radio control helicopters.  So its not a true train show in that sense.  Sort of a mix.  Nothing like Allentown or anything like that.

Nicholas Smith Trains is also going to be at the show this weekend, it's their first time at the show in Wilmington.

My wife and I will be going, then have an early afternoon lunch.  A fun time on a rainy day!

As for me, I'll be at the Altoona PA train show on Sunday.

Harrison Trains and Scenes will be at this show for the first time this weekend!  They will be doing Fusion Fiber ( for making landforms such as mountains and hills ) demos as well as selling their custom made structures, scenery materials, and Fusion Fiber.  Be sure to check them out! I saw their demo in Timonium and at York .... great demo!

Four miles south on I-95 for me.  At the last show I picked up a dozen two rail cars plus several buildings.

They really beat up the table holders for rent.  If the venue was less expensive the table costs could be less thus attracting more mom & pop dealers/tables.

As it is, the last show was well worth the admission.  Decent selection,very well attended,  reasonable pricing, lots of free parking, several nice restaurants from the jeans and Tee shirt Crab Shack to dress up across the parking lot.  I'll be there this AM.

Yup, if there is one thing that is crazy about this forum, its that people don't know how to give their threads titles that describe the subject matter.   Oh well... I live 10 miles from this show and I guess I don't need to pay a $9 admission charge to buy products from NichSmith or JustTrains.

I had another thread describing this train show but it was moved to announcements, so I retitled it, sorry if it confused anyone.

Anyway, the show was pretty good. I bought a new in the box Lionel Type Z transformer for 80 bucks, and a bunch of early 90's 072 switches in the boxes from Ed Dougherty, the PGA man himself for 40 bucks a piece. I got to talking to him, and he gave me his number and said I can come visit his complete postwar Lionel train collection and Postwar displays anytime since he only lives about 20 minutes from me. I had a great time!!

Just got home from the show.  Lot of toys, a couple nice layouts and the helicopter display in the first narrow isle caused a big traffic jam.  Good thing there were only three separate vendors selling them.

Yeah the first aisle was ridiculous, I was trying to leave with all my stuff and got stuck.

I've seen these helicopter displays at shows and finally bought one. Just remember, it won't return to you unless you have zero breeze...which is hard to find outdoors.
