April York 2023 SGMA Standard Gauge Modular Association layout

Great time with SGMA this York. The Black Hall really worked out well for the group. 120 attendees at the Friday breakfast. Standard gauge is alive and well and hoping to have the opportunity to be in the Black Hall again in the Fall!

You fellows did a great job!

Some great looking engines I saw running! Others were nicely displayed around the layout. I really enjoyed the layout in there. A bonus IMO was this being a good stop to cool down while up that end of the fairgrounds. It sure would be a great spot to continue with since it keeps everything evenly spread out.

The SGMA layout was the highlight of York. Thanks to all who set up the layout and brought trains to run and share. There was a crowd around the layout every time I stopped in. I hope this becomes a permanent part of future York meets.

You SGMA folks are a true credit to the hobby! Thanks for sharing the fun of Standard Gauge--the father of O gauge.

I agree with Ed Davis that it was the highlight of the York Meet. Both my wife and I enjoyed our visits up there to the Black Hall. We were particularly impressed with the "home-made" items, like the McKeen Motorcars and that massive articulated steamer (a 2-8-8-4, I think). The folks were more than willing to chat about their respective creations, too. As Allan Miller said, a credit to the hobby. I hope they'll be back at future York Meets.

Many of the trains are hand built ...others are small production runs from various makers ...others standard manufactured pieces .

The gathering at York brings out a large variety of unique pieces .
