When I asked the question about "Line Out" -- I meant "Audio Out" -- that is an audio signal line on the "board" in the engine that a user could connect to for their own purposes.  For example for RF to a stereo.  This is something WillyG showed in an posts but used the speaker wires I think and an FM transmitter.

Interesting about the shielding of the new modular sensor track. I can confirm that they can be susceptible to “noise”. Luckily I found the source of this on my layout. It took me a long time to figure it out though, but then I’m from a toolmaking/mechanical background. All this electrical stuff is voodoo .

You would just tap into the speaker lines. 

That's what he did but ... my memory is a bit vague now... there was some noise, maybe some other issue. Certainly it would be more convenient to have the pin dedicated option. And what I get is line out is more suitable to having its own amplification and all that too.  I'm thinking Marshall stack! Hah, ok home stereo and sub woofer... cool right?

Did anyone happen to ask when the new LCS components, IRV2, CSM2 etc..., were going to be available?

Did we cover the one about sensor tracks built into switches.  maybe sensors at all the entrance/exits in the switch?  Frankly I'm loosing track of all the questions and answers, and I feel I'm just repeating myself now.   Is there a place for a question/answer repository?

There was no such question. Someone asked about a curve but not switches.  The new IRV2 will most likely be the solution for any "out of the ordinary" needs.  Lionel would go bonkers trying to do all the one offs that folks come up with.

Late summer.

Well the thing is -- I was thinking about it in terms of keeping track of what's happening on the layout... so entering exiting switches is one thing that could be useful (& the knock effect is you then also know the switch state depending on the path taken).  Of course you can make one with 3 sensor tracks stuck on the end of each switch ... that's a bit pricey and unwieldy especially if you are trying to wedge the thing into an existing layout.  (time for the chainsaw!)   So, maybe the all in one.  But you are right the new "strip" version would help... save the price aspect perhaps.  Well it's all just an idea anyway...

And what do you think the price point for the switch would be?  The command ones are pushing $125+ with command depending on the size.  Then not everyone uses Lionel switches so the natural solution is the IRV2.  It's an interesting idea but I'd wonder what the demand is.  The STM2 takes care of switch state already.  I suspect the IRV2 will be the defacto all in one sensor solution for most applications.

Well I always look at the big online retailers for the "street" price -- but if you took my idea and bought the latest O72 remote/cc switch as base, that's somewhat over $90 but not quite $100.  And so looking now at the 3 sensor tracks ... holy smokes a whopping $75 each?!   Ok I must have got a heck of deal, I bought several used no where near that price.   Even so... 

I'm thinking like this:  "If we build it, they will come"...   so my magic all in one would have to sell for $99.99 online retailer...  ok too low, right -- I mean who are we kidding?   So, $125 then but no more!   It would have to entice people I think, whatever the price ...

This stuff is already too pricey now that I actually look at it.  I bought all mine used as I said and I must have internalized those prices.

I was at York in circa 1999 and saw that ZW-D on Lionel's layout.

Maybe Lionel will go back and take another look at producing this Yard Boss?
