You are very unlucky becoming interested in MTH European trains at the same time that MTH seems to stop this line of products.

I have a fair amount of European MTH including Hi-Rail steam and electrics, passenger cars and freight cars.  Over several years I got all of mine through Engine House Hobbies, Gaithersburg, MD. Ken did not have any in inventory in his store but ordered everything I asked for and got it from MTH.

Note that none of the European product is 1/48th. Some is 1/45th and some is 1/43rd. But it all ran fine on my layout. I am a fan of European heavy electrics and was pleased with the selection and quality of manufacture. I have assembled "unit trains" of high-side gondolas and tank cars. Very impressive!

And the passenger cars are truly beautiful pieces of work and look great behind French steam or Austrian or German crocodiles.

None of the European product is inexpensive (of course, what in this hobby is?), but IMO the price definitely shows up in the product that you hold in your hands or run on your layout. Top drawer all the way!

If you go to the nth website and use the product locator... it gives an option for "find it locally"... so you should try this even though I suspect it won't really get you there but I'd like to be wrong.

For example, I tried to locate "crocodile" and this produced a list of them... selecting "find it locally" also came up with grand central in Nebraska as suggested above.

And that might be...  also

I just noticed there are some that mth says it has in stock and offers a "buy it now" icon on the search list.  This shows one  I after I selected it.

thanks for the info but if you bought the european stuff as it came out yes  it was easy to get them but nowadays it is very difficult to find pieces because all are sold out for a good period now. so nowadays it's hard to find certain pieces... like the steam engines Chapelon 231   and  the big 241a, or the bavarian locos.

this is not was i was personally told from the vp at MTH  though. They told me that more new items would come out soon........... and that they were even thinking of simply re-editing some of the stuff they had produced which is now sold out everywhere.

Never believe a VP; talk to the P

To show the low interest in European MTH look at this thread; the OP asked if anyone collected and could post pictures of European MTH. Just one answer with pictures! Other "post picture" threads on the forum run for (p)ages.

I believe forum sponsor Side Track hobbies has  few of the items you are looking for.  If not listed then I would call them directly.

Yes i did find 3 items  there but that’s all nothing else. This european stuff is very hard to find in the stores now they are all sold out and MTH does not bring out anymore european stuff. They are losing big sales!!!

Didier, all the European trains I have purchased from MTH via Engine House Hobbies have been acquired over the last 18 months, long after they were displayed in the catalog. The only frustration I have is that a couple of the electrics I like are only available in "Fine Scale Wheels."

I was at York, picked up the 2018 II catalog, and nothing has changed in their 2018 European Lineup. Also, I did not see any European models in the MTH display area.

Good afternoon everyone. The ready to run European market seems to be taking a bit of a breather now compared to five years ago when everyone was rushing to reenter the ready to run market after the early successes of Lenz. Brawa, MBW, and some smaller suppliers all jumped on the bandwagon and we saw lots of new items. However, now we are seeing that there may have been overproduction, and many of these items, especially freight cars are being sold at greatly reduced prices. It will probably take some time for the market to level out in my opinion. In Europe, the market is predominnately two rail unlike North America.

I should post a video of my Kiss Silberlinge with the lights going on in sequence, quite nice.

HI I just checked ENGINE HOUSE HOBBIES  but on their webstore site they do not have anything european and if they simply order it from MTH DIRECTLY then never mind because MTH  does not have the locos I'm looking for.   This European stuff is becoming very hard to get now, many items anyway....
