OK, last weekend I serviced a 2018 that I received. Turned out awfully good for a unit that I don't think was ever serviced. Here's the anal part... The pilot chest is missing one screw. 6-32 x 5/8 slotted. Hardware store has screw in a philips, somehow it just doesn't look right to me. Would you have to have an extra screw laying around????

Spare me the trouble of looking it up. Is is black or silver? Nothing anal about using the right part.

Forest is correct, there's nothing "anal" about using the correct part. I'm sure that Jeff Kane at The Train Tender can supply one.

I have that same issue!
Just finished looking. All I have is 6/32"X 1/2". On my next order from Jeff Kane at The Train Tender I will order some 6/32" X 5/8" screws but they are black. It will be next week when I get the next order. You might be able to get what you want at your local hardware. If you want to wait I can send you 2 of them.

Confused. If the original screw is missing how does one know if it is silver or black. The replacement Phillips screw is silver which could be why it looks so wrong. Until you get the right screw put a little black marker on the one you have.

There are two screws that hold it on. The one I have is silver...

I would assume the silver is original. Sure black probably would look better, I just hope it's not upside down enough for anyone else to notice!
That would drive me nuts in my younger days. The older I get the more 89 degree corners I am willing to accept.
