Armature bearing replacement in 200 series motors

Perhaps if you have a machinist friend, the bearing may be able to be pressed out and a new bearing manufactured to spec and pressed in place.

Near the end of the thread the redesigned motor (like yours) is discussed but the last entry is a guy commenting about a worn out bushing and no way to fix it.

The Lionel service manual describes the change, using a 1055-110 or a 219-113 "conversion motor frame and field which has "a sleeve bearing mounted in the top plate of the truck". The parts diagram does not show a replacement bushing so Lionel's intent was that the motor frame and field would be replaced.

Yes, your only repair recourse is a custom made bushing.
