Anyone know where I can find any sitting Army People for passengers in my cars?

Kline had a package of (I am guessing) 8 to 10 seated soldiers that you could add to the US Army Heavyweight (15") cars they offered. You still see them at train shows and hobby stores that don't lower prices no matter how old stuff is getting. Do a goggle search you may get lucky. Good luck.

The Kline part number is 6-21435 it is 9 Seated Soldiers and Benches, list price was $19.99. Do the goggle search I did and saw them at $17.99. I guess it was Kline by Lionel who made them.

I have a few premier passenger cars with the servicemen in them and they look great. (Didn't add them..Came that way)

The overcoats for the Army men would be a problem; the sailors though would be super-easy; the dress white uniforms are virtually the same as the dress blues as represented by the figures; minus the pipes (stripes) on the sleeves & jumper flaps. A bit of white paint would fix that up quick. You could even make it pass for the undress (general duty) whites of that period by painting out the neckerchief.
Or you can just change the depicted season on your layout. 
Yeah, I'm actually considered in many circles to be an authority on US uniforms of WW2 as I've written and consulted on the subject for magazines, books, TV and movies over the years. Just keep in mind that the stuff they wore in the continental US was, in many cases, quite different from what they wore in Europe and the Pacific. And as most layouts take place in the good ol' US of A, here's what you'd often see:
- Blue denim uniforms (yes, they had them early in the war)
- Light OD green cotton fatigues (called HBTs for Herring Bone Twill cotton woven fabric)
- Khaki cotton uniforms, including Class As made of that
You could re-paint most WW2 GIs to a tan color for the same uniforms, but not overcoats. And yes, the GI raincoat had a totally different pattern...
