Assembling Bush Funeral Train Consist with Lionel Product

Thanks for posting the data. I have the excursion set and plan to buy the 2-pack that was in the last catalog (bought the set to go with all of those Heritage units and the UP Steam). I wish the flag baggage car had opening doors as it could be set up as it ran in the actual train.

Matt...  agreed....  looks like the Council Bluffs baggage in the FT set has open doors with glass windows like it ran in the actual FT.  there is a casket and guard.  Looks cool...

I might have bought the set if it included the 2066 power car even though I already have a 4141. As it is the only car I want from that set is the Kenefick business car. Instead I will just get 2 Lone Star sets and reletter one. Both were used on the Funeral train.

Ya know, maybe try and see if a dealer will break up a Bush FT set...  then get your buisness car that way...

So I too was interested in assembling the complete train and found this great document on UP website. It lists 13 cars not 11 though?

Just a note. Did anyone notice the flag covering the casket is not a 50 star flag?

So Josef, or anyone else who has this train, I know this comes with figures but are the interiors painted as well or just the same yellow plastic used in the other cars?

They only used one of the power cars, 2066, not all three listed.

I have to say...These UP cars are absolutely beautiful on the inside. Thumbs up to the interior designers of these cars.

This car is actually the Promontory. 

Also not listed in the registry is the Lynn Nystrom.

Interesting observation! When looking at this image I thought "What's wrong with this?" and realized the Stars should be staggered.

Great catch Josef.  It really is a shame about the flag. The funeral train set and add-on cars to date are very detailed. Missing such a critical detail is embarrassing. Would love to see Lionel correct this historic miss.

The flag is easily corrected by anyone with a color printer. I don’t see it as a particularly big deal. But Lionel missed on the Kenefick car as well. Eric’s video shows the car with the UP shield drumhead yet for this train it bore the Presidential seal.

This can be corrected as well but since this train was made to commemorate a specific occasion you would have thought it would have had the correct details.
