Charles, I have the same exact problem with my ASUS Zen (Verizon) Tablet. I did all the updates, tried both the MTH and my Home wireless network. whatever flavor of Android they are using seems to have a conflict of some type. I just ended up giving the tablet to my daughter, and will probably pick up a cheap Samsung tablet in the future.

Right now I just use my Samsung Note 9 that works perfectly fine.

Thanks Matt You are the guy I have been wanting to hear from so I didn't think I was the only one having this problem and it might alert others before entering into two year contracts for devices that will not run your trains as described on mth web site or wiu instructions I also bought cheap Wallmart [Lenovo tablet] started right up running trains as described in mth wiu instructions I am in my 70s enjoy running your trains wireless even Gilbert &Cohen had new technical problems.

No problem Charles, I had posted about this either earlier this year or last year I don't remember to be honest. I gave up on it as it's most likely an issue with the Android version on the ASUS Zen tablets.

I'm a Network Administrator / IT Tech so I tried everything I could think of to fix this. The only thing left to do was to root the tablet and put Google's base Android OS on it to see if it worked, but wasn't worth the time to me.

Guys, I am just throwing this out there. I am not IT expert, but I had a similar problem at work although we are hard wired. I could connect to apps, programs, everything, but when I went to connect to a certain page I received the 404 msg, yet I could pick up this page on every other computer at work but the one at my desk. This just happened one morning when I came in after my weekend. Everyone else who logged onto this computer did not have a problem accessing this page, only me. I was told to clear my history page in IE/Firefox, well I did and everything returned to normal. I never ever would have guessed that! I'm just throwing this out there, may be worth a try.

I wish it was that easy, as I really wanted it to work. I hard reset (erased everything) the device multiple times coming to the same conclusion unfortunately.

I've read of people getting the Amazon Kindle to work. I tried several times and finally the pad got hacked I believe. I threw in the towel on that one. Sometimes it's good to know your limitations.

It wouldn't be worth the time and aggravation to fight that fight to me, when pads are so available and cheap.

yeah, sure. & yet I keep trying to keep my old phone working!

You are so right on this one matt I also under direction of Verison people was told maybe a reset would help only to erase &take away all my custom setting Not like the kindle problem mth says on their frt page website any android tablet or phone will work Iv'e purchased both of Barrys books He was standing by Jason at oct York meet when I handed this tablet to Jason and ask if he would try running their display wih this tablet he could not.took my email address contacted Vicky nov. told was very busy heard nothing yet great when trains are running Sorry on my past post was referring to Lionel founder Cowen Merrry Christmas

Just to be clear, the DCS App works fine on both my Kindle Fire and the two other Kindle Fires that my granddaughters use to run my son’s DCS Explorer-based two-loop layout.

My son, Allan, came up with the method for installing the app on the girl’s Kindle Fires. I then used his method to install the app on my Kindle and documented it in the 2nd edition WiFi book.

Amazon had a Black Friday sale price of $29.95 on the 8GB Kindle Fire.

Unfortunately it seems I too have fallen into the Verizon and Asus tablet problem. I thought when I originally got it it did work but had not used it for quite a over a year. Got it back to the train room o use finally. Sadly it responds cannot find TIU although it does connect to the Wifi network for the MTH Wifi. So my question is has anyone figured it out yet so it can work? I realize that I can go buy something else. Someone here even posted something for 29.95. My biggest disappointment is this is one of the most expensive hobbies I have discovered. seems you pay high $ for everything only to be nickeled and dimed (so to speak) afterwards and have to keep feeding the habit! BUT IT SURE IS A FUN HOBBY and relaxing!

Thanks Curtish for your reply and no I have not got an answer from Verizon or MTH on the Asus tablet running trains You and Matt on this forum are the only one's responding to exact same problems Matt gave his to his  daughter and my wife and I use ours for email  Iv'e moved on with my new Lenova tablet Walmart $ 100.00+ If you want to start up like the girl shows on MTH home website don't do $29.95 unless you are pretty teckey and understand last page of Barry B second addition book Love running those Trains DCS Chuck

I am with you 100% Charles. People assume you are using a different networks and not the MTH network or just say you can get this for this. I too am not interested in spending more money. I would just like to know why this Asus does not work.  If it is Android and MTH says it has to be Android I would think everyone including MTH would want to make sure this works or find out why it doesn't. Explaining that we can purchase something else does not fix the existing problem. Plus this was the main reason I purchased it extra with my phone a few years back. Let me know if ou ever hear anything about this issue.

Thank you everyone for at least trying.

Curtis
