My only engine is being returned after repair (never run) in the meantime I am getting my track ready for the first ever run, having recreated the basic layout from the forum, I now have an issue.

i can't seem to be able to connect Atlas 6077 and 6078 (curved right and left switch) to any other track, the sleepers get in the way of each other, am I missing something? I wouldn't think that you are supposed to cut the track ?

This is the layout I copied

thanks for the help.

Edward

you can buy them they are not hard to buy atlas makes a short curve piece you can purchase to clear the railroad ties, that's normal for  some tracks many companies make short sections to take care of the kind of issue. just see your local hobby shop they are not expensive! you can buy short curve or short straight what ever you need ok hope this helps . P.S. you can also just trim off the ties as need and will not hurt anything, its up to you!

Thanks everyone, I cut a very short piece of track and it's now all connected, engine arrives tomorrow, this has been 3 years in the making, fingers crossed it all works.

i think I'll change the layout as I have 7 Gunderson double stack container cars which take up half of the track, I am trying to argue that the layout would look better in the living room but the wife isn't buying my story.

Thanks again
