i must be doing something wrong - was trying to wire an Atlas 6927 Connector - the three switch version - and i cant seem to get the wire under the screws - the screws seem to be too small so when i loosen the crew and put the wire under it - i cant get enough "grip" on the screw to tighten - the screw is connected to a nut but does not seem to allow enough room to fit a wire or even a thin spade connector - why are the screws too short?  am i doing anything wrong?  feel pretty stupid

i tried very thin spades and they dont work - wire was 20 gauge - there seems to be no room - if i cant find an answer to why it is made this way then i will either solder them or use SPST switches instead - I did think the Atlas 6927 was a neat way to do it - but surprised on the lack of room on the screws

thanks - so here is what i did - i turned over the Atlas controller and banged each of the hex nuts so they would go further into the body of the connector - then i tried a thin spade connector and it slipped in fine and i was able to tighten each of the screws - the manufacturing of the connector did not "drive" the nuts far enough in the body of the connector to enable the screw to have room for a wire or a spade connector.  I just had to make sure not to hit the nut too hard - just enough to drive it into the body enough.  anyway now i can use it.

You should see the stuff that attaches their 2 rail electric switch machines. Even they can't handle it! I have brand new packages that don't have more than one screw and/or nut in it! They should have molded the tiny nuts into the switch so that users (and they) wouldn't have to handle them.

 I will have to go to the tortoise ones soon.

I know this is an old thread, but I just encountered the same problem installing this same switch yesterday that I bought a year ago. The screws only catch by one FINE thread- with nothing under them! I haven't purchase many Atlas items, but I thought they had a reputation for quality. My only hope now for using this switch will be to find some longer (metric, I'm guessing) screws.

Did you try this.

I tried tapping the nuts in further, but they didn't budge and I didn't want to hammer too hard on it. I found some longer socket-cap screws (2.5mm) that worked. Like ted K, I found some small spade Sta-Kons and had to nibble a little off the sides to get them to slide in. I falsely assumed the switch would break both legs, but only switches one.
