Arcade and Attica on the PS-1 boxcar. They had a really sharp orange scheme and a later blue scheme.  Those cars were found all over the US (I've seen them in videos behind a big boy) but originated in Arcade NY.  I believe they were used to service the Bordens plant that used to be there. Mth did a railking boxcar for the Arcade and Attica, but never a scale model.

Here is my usual  and shameless plug for something VT lol.

Atlas did VTR PS-1 boxcars w/ 7’ door in HO and N but not O. They’ve done red and green, both with the silver roof which VTR kept when repainting these from Rutland. The red is prettier I think. Would go beautifully with your GMRC (subsidiary of VTR) GP9 and the VTR SD70Ms in production now.

Thanks for the VTR pix.    beth

If Atlas will do one road number in green, and one in red, I think we will be in.    JSYK...Atlas is expensive for these cars, IMHO.   My cost is 58 a car....so I have to sell them for at least 78 a car to come within a million miles if breaking even.   If i sell 50 of the cars, I only have a 2000$ loss, LOL.  75 cars sold is the break even...jsyk.

Makes complete sense. Gotta do what makes money. With the TCA convention in Burlington, VT this summer, maybe the TCA or NETCA would go in with you.

I've always liked the AECX (Associated Electric Coop) cars in green (my photo), which run from PRB to Missouri.  They're a bit too new for my era, but I'd run 'em.  I have a few dozen of these in N-scale.  I would also load up on System Fuels (SFIX) in black with white rotary ends for a typical 1980s unit train.  Early black ETRX (Arkansas P&L) and GCCX (General American) with no conspicuous stripes would also work.  KCLX (Kansas City P&L) cars have a cool scheme, but a bit too new for me.

same question on Arcade and Attica.    Can I sell 75 cars, at 78. a car    Thats the big question.

Be honest......

I think if folks know about it, there is a distinct possibility of selling that many.  Everytime anything painted for ARA shows up on a certain auction site, they command 78 bucks and more because they are hard to find.  Here's a couple I managed to snag from that same site and are decorated pretty close to accurate. Also, I took a pic of the Railking  boxcar that MTH produced in the ARA scheme.  I can say that I'd be in for a few at least if they get made.20230211_21131120230211_210602
