ATLAS CUSTOM RUNS

Bear in mind you're going to have to pay up front for any custom runs before you realize any income and you'll have to wait for Atlas (or anyone else) to fit it into their production schedule.

The is/was a fairly lengthy thread about this exact same subject, over on the 3-Rail 027 Trains Forum. There were some VERY informative posts about the quantity that Atlas, and other manufacturers, require to produce a "custom run". You might try the Search function for "Custom Run Cars".

Well,it was a well intentioned idea, but as mentioned by several,not a good source of income.

What about Peterson Supply in Portland, OR? They do custom runs.

Atlas seems to be high in the number and the money. If you want to pursue it maybe MTH for a smaller run or even Lionel with their Lion Scale cars ( ex Weaver tooling ) but doing a run could turn out to be you would be holding the bag on a lot of cars. Doing a custom run is pot luck. Unless you have guaranteed orders.....Paul

why not make decals for the own cars? There are many custom makers of decals out there. In many cases they can even make from a foto some grafical design and convert them to prints for decals. This is more effective then making custom runs. In the past i did some for me, most for Atlas trinity cars (numbers, signs, all what is need to make a car).
