Atlas HO auto carrier release

Lionel did some full-length enclosed auto racks, but what I'd like to see on the Atlas flat car platform is the two or three-level open auto rack. I have a couple of Lykens Valley open auto rack kits, but haven't had the time to build them. I had briefly thought about casting the supports in resin and making a top to put on an Atlas 89-foot flat.

With the Lionel ones out can't imagine there is enough demand for another model. Still waiting for the scale autos Lionel said were coming for their racks. As Matt says, an open rack would be great though that would make vehicles a must. Good looking HO car.

I agree that these would be nice to have in O scale, and mentioned that to the dealer from whom I buy Atlas products. He usually forwards such info along to his Atlas contacts. If you want to see those made, contact your dealer or Atlas.

This might put a damper on demand - the list price in HO is just under $100 - they generally sell for about $85. I would guess the list price in O would be up around $180 or $185 - sell for about $150 to $155.

Every time Atlas releases new products I hope to see the Auto Carriers releases from them. I keep trying to pass it up the chain as well. Hope @Atlas O is listening!
