A while back, I had an opportunity to build a diorama for a local ice harvesting and sculpting museum out here in the Poconos, and got a lot of nice feed back on the Atlas Ice House. I found one, built it, and just completed the diorama for their annual winter festival. Here's a couple of photos of the diorama, which I also put on the 2 rail forum, but it's such a nice kit for 3 rail, too.

Hi ctr,

Thanks,

I'll have to check on the paints. Most of it was rattle cans, with some Polly Scale detail and weathering. The tracks were painted with Rustoleum Camo Brown. and ballasted with Woodland Scenics medium cinders. The concrete base of the ice platform was painted with Rustoleum Camo Khaki.

I'll get back to you tomorrow with the rest.

Take care,

Artie

Thank you!

It was great fun, and I taught my wife how to ballast track, and help with applying the scenery materials. She had always wondered how I got the look on my layout, and I had a deadline on this project. If you notice on the hill to the left, there are two small bears, which are so common out here. That was her idea, too!

I think when I expand my existing 3 rail layout, she'll be a good section hand.

If anyone is in the area around Hawley, PA, it's the Ice Works Museum. They also do sculpted ice works for commercial venues.

Take care,

Artie
