Since I'm new....This may be OLD news. I have read some posts and was hoping it wasn't true.  I just tried to order some switches and received an email. Atlas has no intention of making any. Therefore, if I'm going to continue in this, I'm going to have to change track. Fortunately, all I have is a small oval.

Wasn't the "Industrial" track selection very limited, and Atlas has since expanded their line of "Atlas O" track to include O27 curves and O36 switches etc?  I would suppose that Atlas has chosen to focus more on the upscale O-gauge market, and not have two different track systems.

Other forum members have used Ross road bed with Atlas 21st Century track and reported that it fits and works well, but I have no personal experience with it. It does look very nice from the pictures others have posted here on the forum. You could try a forum search for Ross road bed and see what others have posted. Atlas does have the smaller curve sizes in the 21st Century line as Ace has stated above. Also, I have had good luck calling Atlas with questions, you might try asking them about the remaining roadbed?

If you are doing a permanent layout there are several alternatives for road bed, such as Flexxbed, Woodland Scenics, Midwest cork and possibly some others as well. However, I would imagine any of these would be difficult to use with a temporary or floor layout that was not permanently fastened down.

Atlas has had 027 curves and 036 switches in the line up for years, the 036 switches may have been hard to find in the last couple of years, I don't know. I have had some Atlas O 036 switches and a factory box of 027 curves for several years, I wish that Atlas would produce some 027 switches to go with the curves that I have. I want to build a couple of "Coffee Table" layouts on hollow core doors, and need the 027 switches that Atlas hasn't made yet(or even said they would ever make).

IIRC, the Atlas 027 curve is 8 pieces for a full circle, and 036 is 12 pieces to a full circle, so just subbing an 036 switch in place of an 027 switch doesn't work, and Atlas doesn't make insulated joiner/pins to mate Atlas track with Lionel/K Line 027 switches, and using the regular metal joiner/pins fouls up the anti-derailing function on the Lionel 027 switches.

I have some neat ideas for projects, but I NEED the 027 switches to do them.
