I have some of the new Atlas O F40's and one of them is having a sound issue and just wanted to reload the file on the engine to resolve the problem, hopefully. Then, when I went to the Atlas website to get the sound file, I found that there weren't any files for any of the PS3 locomotives? @Paul Graf are there plans to begin offering a way to download these files on the website? I'd hate to email the support department whenever I want to download a file. Has anybody else found on the website where these files live if I missed them?

@Paul Graf, thanks for looking into this. It would improve the support capability of the website significantly if those were available.

@Boilermaker1, you could certainly download any file from the MTH website and install it, but I bring this up as a long term issue because if Atlas made a sound file with custom announcements for a certain passenger train (F40s, E8s) that MTH had never done then we wouldn't have access to it. It would be better if we could avoid that situation entirely.

Besides the issue of custom station announcements, the MTH sound files will only work correctly if the gear ratios haven't changed.  Otherwise the reprogrammed locos would run slower than the speed indicated on the DCS remote.

Most likely these F40s are built 100% from MTH tooling, and the ratio is still 10.5:1.  But if I recall correctly, Atlas DID use a lower (numerically higher) gear ratio on the second batch of F-units they imported circa 2013(?), after a lot of 2-rail O scalers pointed out that they ran kind of fast for a scale model, and sacrificed some slow-speed control in the bargain.  Hopefully @Paul Graf will tell us which version of the 4-wheel truck block was used on the recent F40s.
