That is what I was worried about when deciding where to send my RS-1 to get the coupler fixed.  They said they would repair it for free, but I didn't want it gone for months with me just wondering where it is.  I have since decided to take it locally to get fixed.  It might cost me a few bucks but the turn around time is just a week or less.

I can't believe that something went to ATLAS for repair and was not returned within several days unless there was a part issue WAY out of their control. Bill and his guys are top of the heap in my opinion. I haven't had many go back, but when they did, the turn-around was very, very quick (measured in days - not weeks - much less months) and the repair was spot on. I would not hesitate to send them a repair.

I emailed bill S and he said it would be 2 to 3 weeks once the engine gets checked in.  It has been there one full week and is not checked in yet, so what is the hold up.  I checked my postal service delivery confirmation and it arrived at atlas one week ago today and still it not checked in.  this is not good or at all like the rest of you are quoting.  must have gotten abunch of duds back.  I know if you call them you can not talk to a tech, it rings until you have to leave a message.

I don't know what to say about your problem because the Atlas Repair gang is as someone said "tops". Awhile back I sent an old, but just bought engine in for a electro coupler repair. Mind you, this was 2 weeks or more before Christmas.About 2-3 days before Christmas here was the engine NICELY FIXED at my doorstep.

I NEVER asked for the repair to be expedited.  That is my first and one of many Atlas engines that I will buy. Maybe it is a problem of Atlas getting a part......that isn't always their fault.
