Automobiles/ Trucks 1/43-1/50 scale let’s see them

Here’s an old Welly I probably picked up from CVS, but kit-bashed and painted and decaled for a coal truck for the O.L. King Coal Co. It has a prominent spot on my layout.

Very cool Artie, Looks like one of those top dollar cars sold on the internet and if you got it from CVS you really scored!

Thanks, Mike. IIRC, it was only a couple of dollars, disassembled with a screwdriver, and then I just painted the components. I had another one I painted dark green, and it was a stake truck with a bunch of sacks for a load. I don’t know if I gave that one away, or what.

Lee Drennen - great military model, the "eye slit" covers on the headlights is a wartime modification not too many people might have modeled correctly.  Super job.  Artie - love what you did with that CVS model, I always check the CVS car bin when I am in the store as well.  Great job. Pennsyfan - nice tribute to your son in law, bet he feels good about it too.  Rattler-21 that truck looks much more realistic and well used now ...good work.

Here is a shot in "Small Town" of the local McDonalds parking lot on Saturday at lunchtime.  The "Sun-O" delivery truck is a CVS buy and the red sedan inside of the '54 Chevy Convertible is a Tootsietoy from my youth.  Those Racoons are having lunch too

I've never even seen the film, but I too was gonna guess Bullitt. :-) Beautiful cars.

The best car chase scene of any movie ever made. Steve Mc Queen is still the best. Yes, it is “Bullitt”. Did you see where the ‘68 Mustang GT used in the movie sold for $3.7 million last winter? Artie, you and I must be about the same age, to remember this one.

Hey TomlinsonRunRR, you need to make it a point to see the movie. Granted the movie wasn’t one of the best, but the car and Steve Mc Queens driving is award winning.

Yes, it’s an amazing movie for the driving sequences alone. Yeah, Curt, I’m 74, and retired from the Museum of Modern Art, and ran their Film Preservation Center from when we built it in 1996, until I retired in 2015. Formerly, we stored the collection in Fort Lee, NJ

  Indeed one of the best car chase films in history.  1968,  I watched this again the other night on TCM.  It never gets old'.  No academy award, but a darn good movie.  Of course I was a fan of Steve McQueen;,,, Nice scene you have put together'...👍

Well Curt, I am a big fan of black Dodge Chargers.  :-)  I'm sure I've seen snippets of the chase scene.  By the way, who makes the Charger in your scene reenactment?

It is a 1/43 scale die cast made by Road Signatures ( old Mat Ying company) and I purchased it from Diecast Models Wholesale in California. I checked their inventory and looks like they are out of the Charger right now. They have the Mustang for $12.99. I am sure other sources like 3000 Toys might have it. I hope you can find it.

Richie, nice paint scheme on the Ford cruiser...looks like the perfect matching color scheme used to this day  The era, '52 Ford maybe, reminds me of the Norman Rockwell painting for the cover of the Saturday Evening Post, showing a Mass state trooper sitting on a stool having lunch at a diner next to an admiring young kid with freckles...a favorite cover of mine...

Speaking of Dodge Chargers, here is the one similiar to the car used in the movie, Christine (1983).  The GM guys were shut down at this rally...

More fun at the railroad crossing in my best attempt to create a vignette.

First we have the blending of the decades with a 1960's Batmobile, 1970's Starsky & Hutch Gran Torino, 1980's A-Team GMC Vandura, all waiting at the crossing for a 2000's livery Tri-Rail to go by.

Now with the roadway widened to 4 lanes and all 3 vehicles going in the same direction

Now, back to business.  As is the custom, and All Points Advisory BOLO has been issued for the A-Team and law enforcement from several jurisdictions spanning the country (Bay City, Broward County Sheriff, NYPD) along with the Dynamic Duo are hunting for the A-Team... who are currently tucked away in the drive-thru at Starbucks awaiting their order.
