Has anyone replaced the headlight on a Bachmann On30 DCC Mogul?

I'd like to make mine look older and put a different stack and box headlight on it. I pried the round headlight off the bracket. I'm trying to find out if the bulb is supposed to pull out.  It will wiggle inside the light when I mess with the wires but it doesn't want to pull out. I don't want to pull too hard and break the wires. Is it supposed to come out? Or, do I have to cut open the light to free the bulb?

It looks like the wires are soldered to the wires coming out of the PCB board. There is plastic/rubber covering where they go together so I don't think it is a connector underneath. I'm trying to avoid doing any soldering.

It wouldn't wiggle out. I used a single edge razor blade to try to split the light at the seam. The seam is horizontal. I pushed too hard and the pieces went flying along with pieces of the bulb. So much for that idea.

I already bought and received a new boiler assembly from Bachmann that came with the headlight already attached.

I bought a box headlight from Precision Scale Company. It is big enough for me to cut the bottom part out of it and drill out the bulb opening from the front. That way, I can drop the headlight right over the stock one. I might have to grind just a little off the back of the stock one but I'm pretty sure it will work.

What I'm starting with and what I'm shooting for. I have a peaked roof cab ordered from PSC. The stack and light are from PSC and the domes are from Wiseman. I put split shot in the domes before I assembled them to add some weight. I'll put some in the stack, too before I glue it together. This is the old boiler that I'm doing the mock-up on. The new one is painted for D & RGW.

stock Bachmann On30 MogulGetting an idea of what it will look like.
