Ok here's  whats happening....

if I disconnect the TMCC base it works fine.. forward  neutral  reverse,

but when I try to connect the 5 pin connector and use only 3 wires and  put teh TMCC bse back on it will not work .

it seems like I'm wiring it wrong  can you tell by the pictures if I'm20201120_14322820201120_143413 on the wrong pins or ? thanks the wires I'm holding are the two wires that would go to the switch to run/program..

I have a jumper wire for ground on the LCRU to the chassis of the unit..

So after I read your post  I was too excited to  program it and forgot I still had the harness from the old set up and one wire only must of grounded ..

Back up  before I tell you what happened... I been making a postwar 224 navy alco set   got the army sound car in the 3665 car and also regarded the alco truck as was done for my GP Milwaukie awhile back .

Well honesty the US Navy would be so happy to see this running and working the US navy  bobber squad  would of gone wild seeing how this (?_ capacitor ? or what ever it is  made a loud crack and honestly a 1/2 inch flame came out! It was so bright you think it  was a cutting torch

Any ways I robbed  the same part form a unit that only works conventional not sure why

If you know the part number or a listing i can buy one I'll fix the other unit I have..

Lesson learned and Ill never forget make sure I have the right schematics!!!!!  (lol) daniel

AND YES I got TMCC control to work..

Im almost done with this project  I need to add the   capacitors on the motor brushes  I read that  the specs should be Non-polarized 1uf, 50v.  would any of the capacitors I have work? same voltage  just different uf readings.

Also I need to add a switch for the run program  next and lastly fix the  LCRU-2 I robed the part form would this work as a replacement? thank-YOU ...daniel

Also  can the capacitors be installe in any direction? one side has a stripe? is that  the positive side?

You can't use the ones with the stripe, there is no "positive" for an AC motor.  You MUST use non-polarized caps, those will have no stripe.  Also, you don't want to put too much capacitance from the brushes to ground, get the right caps.

Not even close, the part you removed was a triac, and this is a MOSFET!

@gunrunnerjohn would 10uf NP caps be too much? What would be the symptoms off "too much?"
