I have the 2" gauge Lionel battery powered NYC freight set with a lightning striped A unit with a decent sound system pulling a Pacemaker style boxcar, a green chemical tank car and a red center cupola caboose. The set is operated with a remote RC controller and it is a smooth runner with diesel engine revving sounds, bell, horn and crew talk. Best Lionel set for the money ($99) I have ever owned!

What’s the run time?  Without asking for a time consuming project, how many scale miles per charge?  So, is it a commuter or a long hauler?
Just wondering.

Like Ron045, I have a number of battery powered OGauge locos. They run perfectly and have all the normal track powered features. I observe all the lithium battery protocols and have never encountered a battery problem in the three or so years I have been running with batteries. I am seeing run times in the 2-3 hour window depending on how many cars are being pulled.  Battery power is convenient for visiting club meets with running layouts.
