Best cleaner that's safe for paint on lionel plastic body diesel | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hello ,

I just noticed on the body of my lionmaster SD80MAC that there is a blemish on it. I was wondering what everyone uses to get grime off their locomotives that works as a cleaner but is also safe for the paint.

Below is image of blemish.

Have you tried warm to hot water on a slightly damp sponge yet? It woks good for most of my cleaning needs. Then dry with a clean absorbent cloth after.

Is that on the pant or through the paint to underlying plastic?

It's hard to tell, the surface feels smooth, not chipped, and I think, but I may be wrong, that the base plastic would be gray?

I found an image of a shell on ebay, and I think it's gray but maybe I am wrong.
