AC&Y had a small fleet of FM H16-44 and H20-44 diesels. Lionel produced this model several years ago. One of my favorite locos.

I worked at a power plant that had one of these engines as a back up generator. Unfortunately it was defunct before I got there and I never was able to see it run. I was told at the time those engines were still popular on older tugboats.
More bad photography... 6-18340/CCII ...pulls 20+ Die-cast rolling stock up grade. I have the MTH Caboose somewhere.

Also used on submarines

The USS Ling was a museum in the 70s? 80s? I was surprised to see all the FM power in the engine room.
I've got two Williams Train Masters, one in Wabash Blue Bird paint, the other in Great Northern Orange, and a Lionel NYC H10-44.

Older US submarines as well.

I have been enamored with the Train Master engine since Lionel cataloged the Virginian TM (albeit the incorrect color scheme) back in the 50's. So in the early 2000's I picked the K-Line version (seem to be the best representation of an O-gauge TM) of the Pennsy TM. The same time added the MTH conventional Pennsy H10-44 which I upgraded to DCS.
I believe it was 2010 that MTH announced retooling the Premier line Tran Master. So in 2011 brought the Pennsy version (seeking the K-Line one).
Then early in 2012 added the MTH Southern version.
Note that MTH correctly tooled the Southern version with the set down lower pilot deck!

Brass or bronze. Unfortunately the wheels are not insulated so it is an outside third-rail locomotive for the time being.
