I know this may sound odd, but I recently sold my B &A  K-line Berk and LionMaster UP Challenger and bought 2 LionChief engines, a B&A Hudson and  UP Mike. I did it because I decided to go MTH DCS and the original locos weren’t compatible without adding a TM Command base and I felt it would only complicate matters since I’m not that electronic and computer savvy.

I operate 2 MTH Diesel passenger trains in DCS mode and the 2 LionChiefs, with their controllers, as freight haulers on my ceiling layout. To say I’m happy with the 2 steamers is an understatement. Simple to use, literally Plug & Play, maybe too simple compared to DCS, but great fun. Plus, they can easily pull up to 14 standard freight cars which is as many as I’ve tried so far. Sure they’re tradition size which makes them small compared to the engines I had, but maybe Lionel will add the LionChief system to their LionMaster engines someday soon.

Just received a five car set of LIRR premier passenger cars.  Full interior, just need little people.  Will pull with a LIRR DD-1.  What type of LIRR steamer would prototypically have pulled these?

Those are some very nice cars Kirk. I just finished picking up a UP Challenger Madison set and I love them. I also just finished putting a few seated figures in the Observation Car tonight. I got them from across the Pond off eBay. I must say I am pleased with the quality, especially for the price. I still need to add some standing passengers as well as crew figures to make it look a but more prototypical. Here is a quick video.

Adding the passengers was a lot of fun, the cars are very easy to disable with just a Phillips and six screws.

I added a few funny touches like a gentleman taking the browns to the super bowl while his lady friend patiently waits 😂

Hope you enjoy the cars!

1625.. came with military set, one year only, quite hard to find!

Went to an O scale show with Dave C yesterday here in Gardner, MA.... Found this really cool  45 foot MP, panel side gondola...   Weathered it last night, took off the 2 rail trucks and couplers and installed a set of 3 rail Atlas O couplers that I weathered.   Never seen one of these before, it's a "wood kit" car.   Couldn't turn it down for $10.00.

Keep it up Bob... pretty soon you’ll need a big garage for all those Plymouths... bah-dum-dump

Very nice collection. I remember a post some months ago that showed a McGinniss NH version which was quite fetching!!! I wish they would make one of those with command control.

Picked up a couple goodies at the Spokane Fall Model Train Show

The three high cubes for 20 bucks and the olive drab backhoe with all these construction workers for another $8 and, yes, those are city workers.  One guy working and nine guys watching!! Lol!  I know from personal experience...

Not to mention all the nice people to chat with.  This particular show used to be 90% HO, but this year there was a bunch more O gauge stuff.  Pretty cool.

And you gotta love train shows,  no shipping!!!
