Thad...  Reminds me of using the 300 ton Krupp in Houston area with a luffing jib for remove/install of air units in the Medical Center District, the Folgers Coffee plant, and several chemical plants/refineries along the ship channel.  All back in the '90s before I got into management.  Biggest problem we had was finding a long enough clearance on the ground to layout the boom/jib to assemble and teardown later! Great find, sir.

Went to the OKC area local train show at the fair grounds yesterday.  Met with Don Miller of TCA and his lovely wife, made a couple purchases.  May go back today and look for more bargains.  Didn't take pic of the seven sections of 40" tubular track I paid only $20 for them.  Overall did great, spent under $250 total, came home with $10 in my pocket!!  LOL!!

It was much easier to adjust the booms sitting down than on the floor.  It takes quite a bit of of turning of the key to move both booms

  I never got to work with that tall of a crane. But about a decade before I started hvac I was in a building when a big one tipped over and took out  a corner of it, about 25ft along two walls; the boom cutting right down thru it landing 10ft from some data processing folk, no injuries. 

 They called in a sky-crane to help upright the truck, load the boom on a trailer, and finish the lift.

Diverging Clear/Rusty...     The 244 Scout is the engine from my first Lionel set.  Had KMT before that, my brother and I, but the Sears set with the 244 was my first of my own, for my 7th birthday.  I still have the original set, but this 244 is in better condition... wonder why, huh?  With all the PW I have, can replicate my first set, to run, and have the original keep as is... not pristine, but original.  That is, all except for the load for the 2404 flat, a brown automobile.  Will have to due with a repro for the "2nd" set, to run, but finding and affording an original brown auto...….   Thanks for the likes and comments.

Glad I found the custom painted Atlas BCs.  The Quanah Route was a short line from 1902 till 1984.  It connected the Frisco and Santa Fe in Texas and ran between the Red River border with Oklahoma, South West to Floydada, Texas.  Full name of the short line was Quanah-Acme-Pacific.  Quanah is from a town in North Texas, along the route, name after Quanah Parker, a great Comanche chief.  He, and his white mother, played a very important role in Texas history.  The Acme is for the Acme Company, owned by a Mr. Lazarus, and a town also along the route.  The Pacific is for aspirations not realized.  The QAP ran small steam in the periods up to 1950s when they acquired GP7 diesels.  So, one can use St.Fe, Frisco, and/or QAP names and be prototypical.

The K Line MP15 is a replacement for one I had and used for a custom repaint for friends in Wisconsin.  Really like the MTH Premier MP steel caboose.  It will be used with my Missouri Pacific custom painted F3s, in the freight color scheme.  They were formally Lionel 2333 NYC, but they were the type with glossy shells and the NYC paint scheme had much that flaked off.  When I had them painted by a friend in Chicago area, chose the MP freight for the road name, and already have the MTH MP E6 pass set.  I also use my Lionel scale TP L3 to pull the 18" streamline when on TP track in West Texas.  MTH made a nice set of heavyweight TP/MP passengers in the 90s that I may find someday.  As for the PW 157 platforms, have enough for the layout, along with 156s, but to find two in boxes at the same show...…. at really good prices...….

Didn't mention in earlier post, but acquired 9 Atlas switches from another forum member, 5 left and 4 right hand 063.  They are to be a very integral part of my new classification yard.  A great purchase from a great individual.  My wife enjoyed the conversations with his spouse while we dealt and talked trains.. real and modeled.

Was given the Gargraves by a friend and a purchased the Atlas 6000 flex track at a LHS. Still trying to get that Kusan MKT Alco to run on track and not upside down in my hand...

Purchased the #6091 nickel plated rail joiners today. Not so sure if they’ll work connecting the 6000 flex track or allow me to connect it to gargraves. Just making a brief dab into 2 rail and/or non-tubular track since I have an engine and track already.

Any info on the 6000 Atlas flex track, Gargraves, and the #6091 nickel joiners is appreciated. I know there’s a height difference, so it’s either “won’t work at all”, “won’t work unless u shim” or “yes they’re compatible” lol

Earlier this week stop by local toy train shop located directly across from the North Carolina Transportation Museum (NCTM).

Found and picked up the latest pub of the "Ties" Southern Railway Historical Association Mag.  Inside there are two articles on what I normally refer to as the "wave" box car, 200,000 box car produced at the Pullman-Standard Bessemer plant.

One article on the original production which included an interesting tidbit on what the 100,000 car was.  And also info on that plant.

Second article "The Rebirth of SOU 550555."  The most interesting thing the NCTM actually restored the original car.  Hopefully it will be a nice sunshiny day for the train show and car be outside.

Also two pictures of this from 1970 and 1980's.

Picked up a few items for my layout today.  Still have to get the layout up and running but this'll make welcome additions.

Starlite Diner and billboard.  No sounds but simple enough to add much higher quality sounds to this if I wish.
