I can't wait too!  LOL. Thank you very much!  I built layouts in HO and N scales, but it has been a while.  This is the largest space I have had to work with but I never built an O gauge layout except the Ceiling Central RR on shelves and the Temporary Railroad on a sheet of foam with green carpet.  I look forward to getting into this one, and am glad to share what I do to help others and give me ideas as well!

No Problem man. Maybe one day I'll visit your layout and you'll maybe one day visit my multiple layouts depicting the N&W during the year 1954 before diesels came on the scene.

Thank you!!  It is amazing what a backdrop can do to an empty room.  I jockeyed in backdrops into an already built layout, and said never again.

Thank you Paul!  I will be glad to have you watching!!

Exactly Mark Boyce. Each of the layouts will only feature N&W for that particular state. Example: Ohio Layout just features Ohio and Virginia Layout just features Virginia. Putting them all together as one would not be worth it since each of the layouts are going to be humongous by O-scale standards. 

I think we should all volunteer to "store" Mark's trains while he is building his layout. Looks like he needs room to work....

Store my trains and run them so they keep from having any grease harden up!  That would be very nice of you!  

Actually, I had the boxes in a closet, but had to move them out to get at my railroad reference books.  While they are out, I am getting photos of the ends to prove I have the items I am copying out of my spiral notebook onto a spreadsheet.  They will go back in the closet, even though it is nice to be able to get in the closet without having to remove a bunch of the contents right now.  

I'm new here so I will cover since Christmas when I got started in this hobby.      Got the Polar Express LC set for Christmas.  Built a 12x6 table.   Started out with a loop then the layout on the Lionel website for a 5x10.5 layout but stretched it to 12x6.  Wanted to run two trains so I put another mainline loop around that and connected the two with switches. (bought lots of fastrack).  Bought 57 pieces of rolling stock from my neighbor, which were brand new in the box made anywhere from the 50's to the early 90's.  Then bought a Wabash Fallen Flags passenger set from the same guy, brand new never ran from 1986.   Been wearing out the local hobby shop for track and rolling stock. Picked up 6 or 7 1:43 cars from the 1950's .  Scored some good deals on ebay. Now I'm up to about 100 cars and 4 engines.  Including a Southern PS-4 flatcar by Lionel with a covered load that nobody can or will say what the mystery load is lol

That's a lot of stuff collected since Christmas. You will fit in just fine here.

Nothing like just diving into the deep end right away. Welcome to the best hobby in the world. You will definitely fit right in with the rest of us addicts.

Mark nice buy. Once you you start your build, I'm real sure you will be able to repurpose to fit you needs and will turn out great. Also noticed that you will also need a new storage space for your plunder!!!

These came from Boeing, some stickers and a lapel pin, for their new manned space capsule. They claim they'll do a manned test flight of the capsule next year, but my pals working on this project and others at NASA highly doubt that timeframe.

A bit off the tail end of my era. #1067 wasn't purchased by C&NW until 1953. But I've always wanted an RS-1. The UP didn't really have them and the C&NW is a local I grew up with so....

Picked up cheap. Needs a little work , but I have the parts already on the way from Atlas O to 3RS-ify it, fix the pilots and Kadee couplers. More pics to come on completion.

If you get a new CNW locomotive then you need a CNW train for it to pull!

I pieced together the whole set picking up all the cars relatively quickly and more importantly it was done very inexpensively on the secondary market!!  Big bang for the buck!

Still have to 3RS the Loco, adjust some of the couplers, and re-number the stock cars.

Sorry about the bumpy nature of the video. Without a layout at the moment,  I couldn't have them just roll past. Not all of the Atlas Stock cars are shown due to space limitations.....

It's been a little while since I posted to this thread... So we have some prewar American Flyer diecast HO stuff, basically  a complete set including a 252 block signal, an AF two tone green 1621 passenger car, a Scale-craft 00 scale 4-6-0 steamer, and a pile of French JEP cars and "stuff".  I don't focus on one thing very well

Picked up a very clean PW 3360 Burro Crane last month.  When I removed the cab to service it, I could see it had never been apart before.  Complicated little bugger for a 1950s kids toy, but got it all back together and operating well.

Wow!  Togatown!  It looks nice!  

Thanks Mark, for $ 65, I thought it was a great find.

Bought a 2411 pipe car with the original pipes, and earlier got a 2650 tin postwar crane, and a 2419 work caboose. I have a 1947 2025 that needs the cab roof straightened a bit, has the no coupler pilot and the aluminum stack. Will have a period set when it is painted, even though Lionel never made one.

Just added to go with a short mixed consist of a combine, B&O wagon top (weaver) box, and an appropriate wagon top bay-window by Lionel.  Actually found a picture of a similar consist.

Just bought a "new" 1949 built 2026 ... 10 yr old boy loves it !

Wow. That is really nice (even if it's a stand in photo).  The detail is great and I've always been partial to that B&O livery.

I had not seen your post as I am currently swamped with a time-sensitive eldercare task.  But I just checked my Real Trains Forum Digest and see that it is there.  Thanks for the heads up; I'll take a closer look when I'm free.

And to add to the current topic, last weekend at the Amherst Show, I picked up some O scale Bar Mills fruit and vegetable crates and handcarts for my fantasy PRR dining car-commissary project.  Also, I got several heritage road jacket/hat patches and a very cool copper die of the B&M logo (reversed image) that was used in printing back in the day.

Won this project for $56, prewar AF passenger set from 1938 with curly cue couplers.  The engine is a 4615 and the cars are 3181 & 3182 in Blue and Silver.  I'll restore them back as original.  Should be an easy restoration project, although I think the decals will cost me about $22

Dave, this is not my picture, and I am pretty sure it is form one of our Flyer experts/collectors on this forum so I post it as being theirs, however, it is an excellent photo to show the design of those funky little sheet metal couplers   I think this is either Greg T. or another.  Please Greg, help me provide proper credit here

I just scored this off eBay, something I've been looking for for quite a while in 1:43 scale. I got a great deal and these are very tough to find...

It'll have to be repainted as a US one.

Nice find. A Studebaker, but if not mistaken didn't they all wind up in Russia and with some of our other allies under the lend Lease Program

Today was a very good day. Picked up my package at Menards and my gar graves track came in today. First time ordering Menards cars and I am totally satisfied with my picks. Speaking of which pics..........Paul

I managed to acquire this custom painted Canton switcher.

Well not exactly "new" this is the first time out of their boxes.  Only do not know where the borden version is!
