@StevefromPA  Yes the SW1 is new production. Seems like I had it on order for-ever!  My son who was living in Chicago would hook up with us as we were heading to see his brother in Grand Rapids. Once we figured out it was far more convenient to pick him up in Michigan City, he became a convert to riding the South Shore Line. I was looking for a switcher for my railroad - this line seemed to fit as well as any other.

From what I can find SSL had one SW1 #601 (someone did their homework). They later split into a commuter railroad and a private freight RR. Interesting tidbit they were once managed by the C&O.

Hey everyone, so as most of you guys might know from my last post I said that I had acquired quite a lot of stuff over the past several months. However if I were to try to put everything that I have collected or acquired recently into this post it would be quite a lot lol. So instead I figured I would share some stuff that I’ve been working on as of recently and also share some links of the stuff that I acquired running.

I just finished my second Amtrak and fleet passenger coach in detailing its interior. So I’ve gotten two down and two more to go. I also tried hand painting figures for the first time and actually it was kind of fun. I didn’t do it for all of the figures just some of them as I wanted to have black people represented in my coaches.

Just thought I’d attach a couple of photos so you guys can see what I’ve been up to. Works been so crazy I really haven’t had time to be on the forum much which kind of sucks because I really like communicating with everybody that’s here.  The two links are from the Austin model train show and the Temple model train show that I took while with the model train club that I’m a part of the Austin Tinplate Trackers.

Hope all is well with everyone!

Looks good Drewski . 👍

I like the way you have the figures positioned in the windows . Sometimes it's difficult to get a good look like that when looking through the windows.

Don't work too hard.    Don't worry about not getting on the Forum enough...........there are a bunch of us that have OUR  WORK  DAYS  .........on our LAYOUTS . 😉

Just arrived today: Morton Salt SW-1 Switcher!  It's my first Rail King Engine purchase and I haven't burst into flames just yet.  It will go well with my menagerie of Morton Salt 3-bay hoppers.  (An NW-2 would have perhaps been more exciting but it serves its purpose.)  I should probably look for the Factory at this point.

Nice set, Corey. I took it 1 train to Lincoln Center many, many times. I was rather pleasantly surprised at the realistic sounds, especially the wheel squeal and breaking. But what really got me (and what gave me some horrible flashbacks to my days riding the subways in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s) was the final announcement - “Attention passengers... this train is going out of service”

That's funny!  I have a completely blind cat.  Her interest include the boxes that my train stuff comes in. A

Well Anthony , there are a lot of people that say all this is nothing more than playing with little toy trains........ ...........after seeing different photos and videos on this Forum it seems like the little critters have a greater respect for the hobby than thosepeople  😉

More items added to my collection.

Collecting BN/BNSF items that are not similar to what I already have in my collection (Lionel 2126031 - Burlington Northern PS-5 Covered Gondola ):

2126031

Every time I went back to WI to visit my parents, seems like I constantly heard "Save Big Money at Menards" so had to get this boxcar (279-4556 - Menards "Save Big Money" Boxcar):

M-279-4556

And why not this car (279-5345 - Menards Boxcar (Green)):

M-279-5345

Had one more item in my Menards box, but problem with one of the trucks. One of the axles is either too long or too short. That end of the truck won't stay in place. Already requested an exchange.

Stop at a garage sale and spotted a red nose of a American Flyer PA sitting on top of a box with the B unit and 3 shiny passenger cars. I could not resist, I mostly have O gauge but that PA nose made me buy them. Will clean them up and get them running and put up a loop of S gauge track.

My cousin had that set. It's a beauty. Looks like it's in good shape too.

Enjoy

Purchased this through the NYC Historical Society... The book takes you on a photographic journey from Grand Central to Albany and beyond along the Central’s Water Level Route through an amazing collection of photograph. A couple of years ago, the same author published a “companion” volume covering the Harlem Line and the Old Put. Gotten about half way through, and I’m very happy with my purchase!!!

Paul that's the east side of the Hudson, correct? It's two tracks now but wasn't 4 in the NYCs prime?
