But I bought this AutoTrain from a Trainz auction and didn’t notice until it was too late that it has a manufacture defect. Missing a “FE” in red letters on one side.  Kinda cool but also annoying.

Jack, I'm with you.  To me it is kind of annoying, but it may be a rare piece.  Not saying it is worth keeping thinking it's value may go up; just that it is cool.  I would still run it.  If you were into weathering, you could do something to make it less noticeable, but though I like to model realistic scenes, I have never brought myself to weather wonderful paint jobs.

Jack,

Askt them for a refund, ifnthey did not tell you it was missing the fe you may be able to get 20% back.

Breathed a sigh of relief when I received in today's mail Microscale 48-370 Great Northern F and E unit cab diesel decal set.  I've been looking for this particular item for several years, on and off, to paint a GN Empire Builder train, or at least an abbreviated version of it.  Had the passenger decals, but needed this one for the F7 lead unit.

The sigh of relief was because I bought them from a forum member who, a couple of days later, texted me that he couldn't find them---WHAT, CAN'T FIND THEM???  Dedicated man that he is, he texted me a couple of days later when his continuing search was rewarded and he sent a photo of the decal package.  So I did indeed breathe a sigh of relief to have them in hand.

I don't have the room for a prototypical GN EB, so I'll content myself with an F7 AB leading 6 passenger cars.

I picked up the sister set (in Phase III) of plated finish Amfleet cars last week. They are indeed really beauties to look at.

Matt, Good purchase!! If I didn’t already have a phase III set I would have grabbed one. I haven’t put the two sets side by side yet to see how they will look. I’m hoping they won’t look too weird on the same layout.

What power are you running with yours?

It looks like it is Niagara season... picked this up from Grzyboski’s yesterday afternoon.  Unfortunately, won’t get a chance to run her till after Thanksgiving. It is a beautiful model with some really nice applied details.

That is a magnificent locomotive model; but, when I see it with the tender, my eyes go to the tender, more specifically the wheels.  Reminds me of the old PRR Centipedes.

I had a chance to get a good deal on this piece, and I couldn't pass it up.  I already have the Lionel Vision Line Big Boy, this is the MTH version from the 2017 Catalog.  Now I have the before and after picture of the 4014, the VL is before, the MTH is the oil burner after the conversion.  Too bad I can double-head them, but I think that's a non-starter with one being Legacy and the other DCS.

Since I don't have any benchwork yet, no place big enough to run this, but it looks and sounds great on the bench.

I’ve ran mth/Lionel lash ups, does just fine! Also my layout is big enough for that if you want it to get out and stretch its legs a little

I emailed them asking if they could somehow fix it but they said they didn’t have anything for it and then I got the shipping notification soon after that so I suppose I’ll just live with it. It’s a unique piece at least

Mike, I did post pics of the attic layout a little while back......Paul

Mike, I don't know how you missed it!!  You must have been working at the store too much at that time.

Well Mark I don't know how I missed it either, but there are 3 possibilities, 1) I was working at the store to much! 2) I was working to much on getting the train room build ! 3) I was just lazy and sleeping! But I am going to look for them!

I bought something this afternoon that I did't need but was in very nice shape. Saw a very nice Lionel 2018 at the local  antique mall about 2 weeks ago. The price wasn't real high but I have one(my first engine I bought myself in 1956) so it was part nostalgia. The dealer was there and gave me a nice price cut.  Brought it home, runs great but needs cleaned and lubed. Passed on the old Lionel station, maybe later. Sort of rough with lots of surface rust.

I picked up this MTH item # 20-91106 Bangor & Aroostook (C-121) Extended Vision Caboose at the Greenberg Show in Wilmington MA last week (11/17-18) along with a Lionel Milwaukee Road SD-18 engine for $70 dollars both.  I have been looking for this caboose for a long time, great buys last weekend at the show especially on Sunday.
