currently have cab 1,eventually will go down, is there much of hookup diff of cab 1L,or just a matter of changeover of wires .anything diff. that I need to know? I do not have any legacy engines just tmcc .

They hook up the same. To use the CAB-1L, you must have a base 1L. The major differences between CAB-1 and CAB-1L are the transmitting frequency of the remote and the receiver in the base.
I totally agree with ROYBOY, when you look at the Cab 1 next to the Cab 1L, the only difference you see will be the color, it will run your TMCC locomotives just as your Cab 1 does now. I own Cab 1L and am very satisfied with it.

1 More question ,I forgot to mention ,I have a powermaster in the system ,will this work,or will I need a different pm ,and a rewire ?

Since the CAB-1L transmits on a different frequency than the old CAB-1 and the Powermaster listens to CAB-1 frequency, you will either need a "Powermaster bridge" or have to buy a new Powermaster.
The new Powermaster is full of new features, has greater power handling capacity, and controls some functions of MTH Proto two and Proto three in conventional mode. The new Powermaster has the features of the discontinued TPC.
Are there any other components that should be mentioned?
