my cab two was not shutting down correctly so I thought I would load v1.3 again and start fresh.when I tried that I got ;
cab 2 screen is blue with a row of small icons along the top of the screen, base blinks 6 times.
does anyone have an idea to fix this? Maybe I entered the twilight zone!

Here's what the manual says for 6 blinks.
6 BLINKS IN A ROW
Verify fail after program
• Removed Module during update
• Module not inserted properly
• Possible hardware issue
I suppose your 1.3 module is what came with your Legacy set so you don't have another module to try or to reload?
When 1.53 was released, my remote updated without a problem, but my base would not update. Forgot how many blinks I got, thinking six also? Anyway it was a hardware problem and had to go back to Lionel to get fixed. I was using black modules.
Remove the batteries from the cab 2 remote and then replace them.
Then retry the update process on the Cab2.
be gentle with the press on the CTC button. That may be the problem.

After Lionel had me try several things my results were the same, they wanted it sent in. Took just about a month to get it fixed and returned. And it's working now!
