Offered on that auction site.....Maybe Lee would like this better as the cab is in the 'right' place per Lee!!! Just thought it was funny!

Might be a rare factory error! On second thought it might not be so rare, there's probably at least one cab forward for every one that is backwards.
Or it could simply be a case of poor QC at the factory.

I have seen this type of photo of cab forwards several times on auction sites. Many sellers don't know anything about trains.

Since none of the available cab forwards are 98 cent items, you wonder how people
who know nothing about locomotives, came into possession of the ones they have
for sale.

Probably inherited.
At least the tender's facing the right way...

Could this be next on his list. I must say, the top one is very attractive!

I had heard that the practice of fitting the tender in front of the locomotive was done at the request of the engineer. He was always complaining of the discomfort caused by having a tender behind.
Nothing that a Dremel cut-off wheel, some bondo, fine grit sandpaper, air brush and 15-20 hours of work couldn't fix.
I've seen many auctions with the tenders backwards, so I guess having a cab-forward backwards should be expected.

This is a common mistake in the TRAINZ ebay sellers pictures.
Yep, as others have already alluded to, having the cab forward posed where it's facing "backwards" is a common thing to see on ebay, and that's not just limited to Trainz either.
Sometimes I wonder if some of these people that are selling that model simply because they actually thought it was supposed to work that way and they couldn't figure out why they couldn't couple the engine & tender together & make it run?
but you would think a train store named Trainz would know better
