Wondering if anyone will be updating modules to the latest software, 1.72?

I will make a new black module and upgrade them. If it goes bad, I'll just back up to 1.70.
Already did.
But if you mean at York, I'm sure something could be arranged. Let's see what the interest is. I'd be happy to bring my stuff if there is enough folks that need modules made.
Yes, I was meaning at York.
I'm guessing not enough interest.
Hi fellows, what does this upgrade do? Also is it the Cab 2 upgrade, or the Legacy base upgrade? Thank you very much. Happy Railroading Everyone

I’d be in for an upgrade.
Are you looking to make modules or just get the upgrade?
Yes I’d be in for getting the upgrade on the Cab2. I don’t have widows now and can’t do it with the iPad. Is anyone going to be doing the upgrade at YORK. If so where? Thanks again.

Hi Laz
I'm open to do upgrades but if I need to make modules I will need 2 writable modules (or 1 if upgrading a Cab2). If you just want to bring you base (if needed) or both Base and Cab2 I can do that as well. We could probably meet in the orange hall lobby between the main entrance food stand and the orange hall meeting room just past where the LCCA layout setup is. Time around 11am to noon?
If I don't have to make modules and use mine i can at least keep my PC at home but am fine bringing it. I will also bring my base and Cab2 to test the upgrade. Everyone is welcome.
Hi MARTY,
Thanks for the reply. I have the base upgraded to 1.6. I just need the CAB2 upgrade to 1.72. I can be there on either day Thursday or Friday, which ever is better for you. Thanks again.
We'll see how folks respond. Maybe I can do it both days. I just don't want to spend more than 45 minutes if we do both days or an hour for 1.
I can bring some upgrade modules and do a few at the Henning's Trains booth in the Orange Hall. The upgrades themselves, assuming you have the modules, are very quick.
Thanks to all. I’ll bring my black module and look you up. I just can’t get the download to work with my laptop.
Well, I won't have a Legacy command base, so I was figuring on using my modules to do any upgrades.
Thanks Marty! My friend and I would like to bring ours.
Marty... Please, let us know if Gunrunner's buddy 'Shawn' shows up for an upgrade!

Agreed and completely understand the position- they are 2 different tasks.
Writing the update to someone's writable module requires:
#1 a good writable module
#2 a Legacy base and power supply
#3 either a serial to usb adapter or LCS wifi module and cable system to connect the base to a computer. Some people even go direct serial cable to a computer with serial port. Basically, 1 of the 3 ways and all associated components.
#4 A windows computer with the Legacy System Utility and downloaded copy of the firmware update.
VS
A pre-written module carried to the show, that you loan to the individual to update their CAB2 while standing in front of you.
Writing the update module is the hard part, using the module to update a CAB2 remote is trivial by comparison.

Well, since I had to write the modules to have them, I do completely understand the difference!
The base is at 1.60 and cab2 is at 1.70 now.
What is the difference in 1.70 to 1.72?
Thanks.

One ends in .70 and the other ends in .72.
It's something to do with compatibility with the BASE3, and also I believe it fixes an issue with the Legacy track crane.
