First, Denver is one of the fastest growing cities in the US as a result property values and taxes have greatly increased. As a result many companies have moved to less expensive locations in the metro area. Caboose Hobbies has announced that as a result of increased lease costs they too are having to look for a new location and they are having a sale to reduce inventory.

I am merely a loyal customer and not a representative of this business.

Wow, if I'm not mistaken they have been at that location for 35 years. I remember when they moved from 15th St  downtown in the early 80's. Time to start a new era.

I remember that time-of-transition very well.  I had been to the 15th street store on a few vacations.....it did seem like it was getting a tad crowded for floorspace.....to say the least!

But when I first visited their Broadway location, I thought they'd lost their marbles!  It seemed to be an old warehousey, run-down, forgotten neighborhood of Denver.  BOY!....Did I ever get that wrong years later!!!! Holy-Moly....the renewal and pizazz that grew up around there......somebody had 'vision', for sure!

I've always thought of Caboose Hobbies as a sort of 'Mecca' of the hobby....when I was into HO.  But after I migrated to O3R, I really enjoyed more the visit to Mizell's.....which, of course, is now (sniff!)....gone, sad to say.  LOVED that Wall-of-Trains....a 3-dimensional mural of grandeur, second only to the Rocky Mountains up the road!......IMHO, of course.

I hope Caboose Hobbies finds a long-term home and survives well into this century.  I wish them well.....to the benefit of all of us!
